Post your Winter Project/Builds here
I'm sure someone will end up doing a build off for the winter, but in the mean time I figured we could start a winter 2012/13 build thread to see whose got what in the works for the cold months.
This is for any era bike. New, old, mid, new new, old old, antique, etc.
I'll start us off with mine. 2007 or 2008 Macneil Deuce Deuce I got from a guy on Craigslist complete.
There's a couple parts I'll keep off it and several I'll be replacing.
It came with a hacked micro adjust post that was about 2" long to get that "slammed" seat look and no post clamp. So for the mean time, I had a Poverty post and a no name clamp laying around to throw on it, seat will be lower when it's riding time that's for sure.
I've got a couple plans for it. Hopefully I've been a good enough boy this year that Santa will help me out with a couple items ![]()
So, what's everyone else got?
I searched to see if there was another topic like this and didn't see anything. If I overlooked it, my bad, please delete this one.
My rides:
2012 S&M 22" Holmes
2011 Colony Rebirth
2011 Sunday Wave C
2012 Diamondback Overdrive 29er

Re: Post your Winter Project/Builds here
Just picked this up a few days ago. 82-85 PL24 cruiser. I've been wanting to put togethor a cruiser for a while now and I can't wait to get started. I took it for a ride earlier as is and it rides great, mountain tires and all
. Let the fun begin. Hsd some nice parts on it but some will be replaced. Also had some rare Kuwahara cruiser bars on it too.

I do plan on having a well respected member here powder it the wrong dayglo pink color before I install some 87 PFT team model decals on it.
I will call it NOS refinished so I can charge the big bucks too.

Oops realized the pictures of the bike had no wheels mounted. I swear I rode it with wheels on it ![]()

Re: Post your Winter Project/Builds here
I'm just waiting for a couple to show up at my door.
I'm waiting for an 82 GT Pro to get shipped back to me from the chromer. I've seen pics and it looks awesome. I already have the decals and some parts... Still planning.
And then I'll have this soon as well. Not sure what I'm doing with it yet but pretty sure I'll build it. My first Hutch:

Re: Post your Winter Project/Builds here
Found a shop by my house with a like new Dyno 93 Air with purple splatter paint and a 92 Robinson chrome complete, both for $100.00. New to the museum and was wondering if it was worth it. I would definately rebuild the Robinson over the winter.

Re: Post your Winter Project/Builds here
I'd like build or buy as a complete a new(er) school bike to serve the dual purposes of cruising around and weekend racer for next season. I've ridden the local track at practice several times but have never raced so I'm looking for advice here guys. I can't justify the expense of buying a bike for the sole purpose of racing so it has to be a comfortable cruiser. I've been sitting on retro 08 Quad and Ripper frames for a couple years and am thinking of maybe building one this Winter for this purpose. The Ripper comes with seatpost clamp and headset so I'm leaning that way, but the Quad just looks so cool. The Ripper is quite a bit lighter. Would these frames be good for my needs? If these frames project to be valuable collectors items I'd be happy to put them back in storage and do something else. Thoughts?
No offense but I suck at negotiating, so rule of thumb: When dealing with me just assume the price is firm unless I say "OBO".

Re: Post your Winter Project/Builds here
Here's my two projects. Picked them up on Craigslist for $40 for the pair about 2 months ago.The Trek needed a pair of grips, a tire and a good cleaning. The DYNO is stripped down and some of the smaller parts are soaking in cleaner.
