Rebuild a racer.. Helping a Bro

This past Year has been hell for my buddy.. He got seperated from his long time girlfriend, His kids moved out of state due to the ex. His very close friend got killed in a crazy accident, and he lost his job it took him 3 yrs to get due to them not letting him take time off for the funural, exc.. yep about anything has happened. My bro has been a very comp racer for 20yrs and wanted to get back into hard this year, but he looks at his bike as out of date and starting to wear out..

So.... I  made him drop it off to me for a REBUILD/MAKE OVER. He was kinda nevvous as no one has ever built his bikes ever, and he said this was tried and true since 96,LOL... Time to bring him to the future and get him some killer parts to get him back on the charts... I have been buying and saving $ for parts, and some sponsers are starting to kick in..


GOOD THING HE DONT READ THE MUSUEM AS FOR THIS IS A TOTAL SECRET. HE DONT KNOW ANYTHING HE IS GETTING..



Starting with a STANDARD 125R FRAME AND FORK AND SBC BARS
NEW PROFILE CRANKS FROM PROFILE SPONSER- MATT COPLON
PROFILE EURO BB
JUST ORDERED HIM NEW SUN ENVYS
NEW MAXXIS FOLDABLE DHT'S
LIGHT WEIGHT RACE TUBES
JUST ORDERED A NEW SBC STEM FROM DANS COMP
ANIMAL EDWIN GRIPS
SHIMANO DXR BRAKES AND LEVER
Kona WAWA sealed pedals... these things are sick!!!
AND HIS FAV SEAT EVER, AND ONE HE HAS USED SINCE HE STARTED RACING TO PRESENT- KASHIMAX AERO!!



HUBS YET UNDECIDED AND SOME OF THE OTHER TRINKETS... HE WANTS A CANDY RED, SO I HAVE THAT LINED UP ALSO, SO CANDY RED, WHITE AND CHROME THIS WILL BE,


Should be a cool build... stay tuned!!!

Just got a SBC stem from Dans as it seems the only one to have one left in the country, it came kawi green, but currently soaking in removed to get to the raw alum for a full polish, same as with a OG SBC search and destroy seat post clamp...

So I started on the tear down.. Frame, fork and Bars going to my bro for a Candy Red paint job! Donated by my bro!!!

Well since this is a close bro. I bought him a Green SBC new stem from Dans as for they were the only ones to have them in the country

Well that wasnt going to fly, so some paint stripper and time on the buffing wheel I did this!

The one thing he wanted left on his bike was this sun ringle moby post. pretty sick and ultra light, but it was beat up black. so I stripped it, and polished it.. HOPE HE DONT MIND!!!!

Stripped the blue anno SBC search and destroy seat post clamp tonight with easyoff. that was No SH$T. Took 5 min and the anno was gone! Going to go run it to the buffing wheel for more bling!!!!

I'm gonna miss the red into Titanium fade (one of my Fave finishes done by Standard, ever!). I'm looking forward to seeing what the new red will look like. :-) If only you could move the cable guides, as you talked about. Anyways, excited to see what you'll do with Ronnies bike. He deserves something to make him feel good. Always been one of my favorite Moline/Davenport locals.

and near done.. It will be hand rubbed with Purple metal polish to get rid of light scratch marks. PMP works amazing!!!!

Got a little bored tonight, took a black anno sproket and did this. needs a light hand rubbing to remove some scratches!!!

I block sanded the whole sproket front and back to make sure it was 100% flat on both sides.
