My Monday find...
Here's my latest find. 1987/88 DB Mike Dominquez Stike Zone edition. I'm super happy about it just because I almost bought one for triple the price of this one and it wasn't the a Strike Zone.
I bought it from the original owner. The story goes that him and his brother got DBs for Xmas when they were 14yrs old. He is now 38. It spent all its life in PA until he got married and moved to Ohio and while visiting his mom in PA he decided to dig it out of the attict and bring it back to Ohio w/ him. He intended to restore the bike for his kid but the wife got a new job in Arizona and can't bring any crap w/ him... lol!
And that's how I ended it up w/ her.
I'm planning on keeping it all original just a good clean and tires.

It's an 87. They changed the graphics/frame/forks for 88. Looks great though!! ![]()
It'll slide real good with those wheels ![]()

Re: My Monday find...
Don't know what color tires I want to put on yet. Any ideas?
They are definitely going to be used and from the 80s and used to keep the whole survivor look.

The wheels read Diamond Back on them. They're pretty cool.

I believe they were originally white, but go with what you'd like. I'd stick with white or black myself.

Re: My Monday find...
Go blue skinwall freestyle tires. Don't do white as most likely the white mags won't clean up to a brite white like the tires are gonna be. I have seen it time and time again. off white/cream mags with bright white tires... looks like crap. And I wouldn't do black either. There isn't enough black on the bike to make it flow. Just my 2c's man. Nice pickup. I was eyeing that one too ![]()

Re: My Monday find...
Nice pick up, it looks to be in really good condition... Strip it down, clean it up and it'll be dialed.
I'd stick with white or black tires personally.

Re: My Monday find...
Some fresh white grips, white & chrome chain and a new all white seat is where I would head with that.

I figured that much... I have some black tires laying around but didn't wanna go that route. Do you have any blue used tires laying around?

I'd like to do that but I think the strike zone came w that seat and possibly the grips too. I have a white chain that's a little beat up off my dyno thats gonna fit right in. I have about 3 resto projects right now so I'll rather put new parts on those and just clean the shit out of the Db.

Jay you have a really nice survivor there. It will clean up really good with some scrubbing. If you want some help I can give you a hand. I have access to a parts washer to degrease things. Once that frame is cleaned and waxed a couple times the color will really pop. I bet it will look as good as my Kuwi if it is cleaned up properly. Let me know. As for the seat I know its OG but those rusty rivets and dirty blue just doesn't flow well with the rest of the bike. Same thing with the dark blue grips. A nice white Dominator would look good. Its your bike so do what makes you happy. I am just giviing you suggestions.
