Dunno the year to the GT pro Performer....
I'm not quite sure which section to put this thread in...so if I'm in the wrong one, please tell me which one to put this sort of topic in
. But anyway, I have a GT Pro Performer. I don't know what year it is. I can't find any serial numbers anywhere. I've had a guy tell me it might be as early as an 84', and as late as an 86'. Without the serial...I have no idea. I want to post it up here in my virtual bike collection on the Museum but I obviously want to know the year first. I do have the original forks, and the original Tuff Neck stem, but it's cracked
...and the forks have a threaded bar stuck in them so both parts are unusable right now. I got the bike for free so I can't complain about any issues with the bike...
Here is a few photos. Hope they help. If anyone needs more photos, please let me know. Thanks in advance for ANY help!

Here are the forks...
And the neck...

I think I did try a long time ago when my buddy had this bike. How would you clean a chain ring like this?

Nope, didn't see one, and I didn't see any signs of one being broke off at some point in time.

I know it's not that hard to clean a sprocket...but with it being aluminum, I don't now what to use.

Its 1084 meaning October of 1984 build date. American made as well, nice find! ![]()
There is also a FS to the left of the axle. ![]()

The "a" looks like an 8? I kinda see it and I kinda cant. Lol. Its soo far gone, its hard for me too tell. Thats why I asked you guys since y'all know your stuff. What does the FS mean..if there is a meaning behind it?

Thats what i thought. Lol. Just wanted to make sure. I finally see the "8" instead of an "a". This new info makes this bike the oldest BMX i own. Its pretty cool.
thanks to ALL who helped me figure out this puzzle. Wish i could vet the forks to work at least.
