My new "Goose"

Mid School 98' Mongoose Hooligan. Chrome was pretty oxidized, polished it most of the night. Looks like a mirror now, removed the stickers as they were trashed. Wheels didn't want to turn, bearings were pretty tight and minimal grease that had dried up. Re-packed all bearings wheels and headset, new cables. Front wheel was gouged with a dremel all the way around from someone trying to make the brakes hookup better. Had to shave the sidewall smooth then sanded it a couple of times with different grit and it looks like new. Parts that have been ordered so far- Odyssey chain wheel, red Kenda tires, red Ame grips, red brake pads, red se racing seat with white lightning bolt, red dice caps, red Mongoose stickers set, new brake levers and cranks.

Yellow seat for mockup only.

Re: My new "Goose"

Thanks guys. I used tin foil and water to clean all the welds, _hit worked awesome! Also worked on the stubborn spots next to the frame vent holes. This week should feel like X-mas when parts start showing up, hopefully there's no straglers.smile

Re: My new "Goose"

Moongoose gave me one of those frames years ago when they came out .
I remember bending the rear end just jumping curbs in SantaCruz.
The abubaca on the fallen tree might have twisted the rear into submission afterward .
Anyways that frame lasted me one afternoon of light riding sad

Tin foil and water, then mothers chrome polish along with some never dull chrome cleaner.

Re: My new "Goose"

Brake pads showed up! baby steps. Here's a pic of the cleaners/ polishes I used boostinB13. Hardest area to clean was by the seatpost, looks awesome now.

Re: My new "Goose"

I had written off the original bars because they were so rusty. Had some spare time, tin foil and water worked wonders. They look new! Took 15 minutes. Took off the Schwinn Yo bars, looks much better now.cool

Mothers can be a bit abrasive. Blue majic does just as good of job and is less abrasive. never dull always seemed like to much work for me. Trust me, i owned a harley that had $5000 worth of chrome on it

If you buy from me, please leave feedback. Ill do the same for you. Then our transaction will be complete. Thank you, greg

Re: My new "Goose"

Nice cleanup on the Holligan! wink

This frame is similar to my 98/99 Hoop-D (posted under my bikes), which could use a polish job like this.

I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets preferred).
Thanks wink
I'm also johnng23604 at "Retro-goose", "VintageBMX" & "RADbmx"

‎"First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV."
