Odyssey Springfield brakes?

Is anyone using these brakes ? Any problems or how would you compare them to the EVO brakes?

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

I've got them on my Holmes. I like them. The ghost pads are nice too. The only difference between the evo and the Springfield brakes are, the springfields are lighter, go on easier but harder to adjust because they already have tension because the spring is installed from the factory.

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

Cool! They are cheaper price wise too. I am going to give them a try on a new build . Thank you for the information.

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

yeah that kind of made me worry, the price is really low. Plus the lever is cheaper than the monolever. The Springfield lever is lighter but does not have the hinge. The top piece slides into place instead of using the hinge.

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

That's cool. I went on Dans compe site and found out that the Springfield lever only comes in right / rear. The monolever you can get in left/front , also you have 3 options with the monolever . Small, medium, and trigger lever. Your bike looks sweet, always a fan of the all black! Thanks again for your help.

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

I just bought some, but haven't gotten them on my bike yet. They are pretty cool, the design is so simple I don't know how nobody else has thought of doing this before.

That's cool! Let me know how they work for you? They do look cool and I agree with the simple ness of the design but not surprised Odyssey came up with it.They  have been leading in BMX since 85.

Re: Odyssey Springfield brakes?

I've installed a few sets and they work ok. I wouldn't run a brake doesn't allow fine-tuning of the spring tension, but that's just me.

I got them on and they work great, they have a smooth feel and a really clean look. The ghost pads work great too.

On what bike?

A sight for sore eyes to the blind would be awful majestic. It would be the most beautiful thing that they ever had seen. It would cause such surprise, it would make all of their minds electric. How could anyone tell them that some things are not what they seem?
