I was bored, built up a bike in 5 hours
Traded for this 85' Quadangle Freestyle f/f last week. I'm still unsure exactly how I want to build it so since there's not really that much out there on them, I rooted through my stash and threw this together tonight.
Parts list:
85' SE Quadangle Freestyle w/unstamped Standing Gear forks
Peregrine HP-48's with NOS Kenda K55 tires
Sugino chromo pocket, Sugino powerdisc, ProNeck chainring VP pedals
DC Nippon f&r
ACS 45 stem
Odyssey layback
Aero seat
GT bars

AFTER:

I'M NOT ON HERE REGULARLY. WORKING ON MY HOTROD
Will trade bikes/parts for 29-31 Chevy roadster parts!!!

Re: I was bored, built up a bike in 5 hours
Looks good. Always liked the fs quads. Id like to see a bike put together properly in an hour or 30 minutes. You'd have to rush through everything and likely beat the crap out of the bike in the process. I like taking my time and make sure everythings cleaned up and greased so I don't have to worry about it out riding. It usually takes me days to get one completely together.
2 dollars, I want my 2 dollars!!

Thanks guys! And yes, I have a wife and 3 girls so time is irrelevant ![]()
A lot of the time was spent just trying to find the parts. I have boxes and boxes of small parts that I haven't sorted yet. Yes, I agree that if I had the parts in front of me ready to go, I could do a Walmart special and slap a bike together but there's a difference in throwing a Walgoose together and a quad freestyle

So you pressed in the headset and BB cups, grease bearings and install the fork crown race, installed cranks, forks, bars and stem, install brakes, levers and grips, adjust all cables ect, true wheels, mount tires and adjust in 45 min? I was a pro mechanic for a long time and building a decent quality mountain bike out of the box with most the parts installed takes 1/2 hour if not a lot of adjusting and fidgeting needs to be done like on cheap bikes so I don't think you built a rideable bike from a naked frame set in 45 minutes.
I build my bikes, wheels included in about 2-3 hours from the ground up. That is lacing and truing my own wheels.

at 15 i dont expect you to be taking a few sips of beer between each turn of the wrench. The longer I'm doing something greasy the longer the girl leaves me alone also. No rush...

Re: I was bored, built up a bike in 5 hours
I think it near perfect - looks more like an authentic build then the carpet queens they are usually dress up to look like.
5 hrs well spent - wish I could have the 5 I lost at the emergency room the other night back and spend it the way you did instead.
Now go have some fun on it !

frankin kid is so annoying/dumb
A sight for sore eyes to the blind would be awful majestic. It would be the most beautiful thing that they ever had seen. It would cause such surprise, it would make all of their minds electric. How could anyone tell them that some things are not what they seem?
