Re: Quadangle in the attic 18+ years!
1) No, it is the 22nd frame built in November 82. They started making the 2nd gens in late Sept or early Oct.
2) No, it is a chromoly frame.
Your thread was deleted because you asked about value. This site does not do that.
Welcome to the site. Lets see some pics. ![]()

Nice bike for sure. I am not sure what kind of forks those are though. They are not SE forks. How long have you had this? Quads did not come in chrome from the factory. Did you have it chromed BITD?

YES i want it back to it's old glory. This was the baddest and lightest bike out of all my friends and I didn't realize what I had until I grew too big for it. I don't have any pics from back in the day. My parents bought this from a kid down the street for me in 1986 or 1987 and i have had it ever since. I want to restore it to how i found it, I need a tuf neck stem(blue), Race Inc bars (black), uni seat(black), super maxy 3 piece w/ blue tuf neck chain ring, tuf neck seat clamp (blue), araya rims w/ suzue hubs (both blue), diacomp rear brake with bent lever(both blue), haro series one race plate. I broke the original landing gear fork and have another one that's stamped SE the bottom.
Any production numbers for this years and model??

Yes i had it chromed , so many wipe-outs killed the OEM black paint! I did read somewhere that SE offered chrome for special orders?? My goal is to strip it down and paint it this winter. Did SE powder coat these frames or use paint??? Those are the forks off my ELF, I swapped forks when i bought my ELF (quads are so small for a tall guy). Still have a OEM chrome landing gear fork (on the ELF now).

I don't think that chrome was available even by special order. A lot of chromers today will not do them because of problems with the finish near the head tube where all the tubes cross and are so close. Quads were painted BITD. You could try and clean the frame up in a OA or CAP bath. It could turn out looking just fine. There is a lot of good restoration info here. http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=359716
And OA bath here. http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=351132

Re: Quadangle in the attic 18+ years!
Yes the chrome job was horrible in that spot and i had to send it back twice, they never could get in that tight spot there. Did SE use an epoxy paint?

I don't think so. I remember the paint on mine BITD being kind of soft and got scraped up pretty easily. I did use epoxy paint on mine when I re-did it early this year. It it very tough.
