Re: ~AUBURN PROTOTYPE CRUISER: RIDEABLE WEIGHT WEENIE BUILD: STEP BY STEP~

I'd go with the white Envy and white Dagger's. I have the FMF rims on my Carver. Always wondered what they weigh each. Just remember to stick some YELLOW Velo Plugs in those rims instead of a rim strip. cool

Interesting,.... What's the difference between rim strips and the yellow plugs?

I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy. smile

Amazing how much weight you can save in areas that you never give much thought. For example, normal grips weigh about 5 oz. Rim strips weigh a bit over an ounce. Then there's stem bolts and tubes. These are places to save major weight. I used Titec grips that weigh 15 grams for the pair! Saved 5 ounces over normal grips. Yellow Velo plugs weigh 5 grams per tire. Another 2 ounces saved. Ti stem bolts saved 1.5 oz. Then I went all out and got Eclipse tubes. 49 grams each!! Saving about 2 oz per tire over the next lightest tubes you can get. And these tubes won't EVER blow out.  Right there is 12-13 ounces saved. Basically a quick way to shave nearly a pound off a bike.

I'm using a Digiweigh scale. It goes up to approx 300g I think. Scale was pretty cheap but is highly accurate. I would of liked something to weigh the heavier stuff but it'll do.

I'm getting a scale this week.

I'm surprised a guy with a medical MJ card needs a scale!

Cool looking frame Sean!

Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart," all I hear is, "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."
