Yup, put a bunch of money and time into it a few years ago. I even bobbed some old fenders. That back brake really works. It was a pain to alter that fender in order for the brake to fit and function. I *really* need to either clean up that disc or replace it. (E-Me if ya want more pics of it or if ya wanna discuss anything else for that matter) lol

Streetbum is right that is hideous!!! Why the F--- would you destroy a bike like that? I am starting to think this site is a joke!! There are some nice vintage bikes on here and then there is the Junk! No wonder I was told to stay off this site by people on os-bmx and Vintagebmx.
Don't worry... this will only hurt a little!

Dude...
That is sooo rude! For as long as BMX has been around, people have been modifying, changing and rearranging their bikes to suit their own personal tastes and likes. The museum is an archive of BMX bikes;all kinds, shapes, colors and forms that gives us all a place to show what we have to others that share in this common hobby we have. What I like, others may not. What you like,I may not,but it gives neither the right to be malicious and bag on someone elses things.Where I come from,RESPECT goes a long, long way...oh,and it is earned, not given.
Fox has earned the respect of most of us.At least he has given these bikes a home,a place other than a dumpster or landfill.Use your mind, not your mouth and try learning to RESPECT others things, not tearing them down.

Re: 1982 Diamond Back Silver Streak
I too agree w/ Chris, there is way too many negative responses to bikes on here! If you don't like someones bike or something about their bike, just don't say anything! Or say it nicely! But on the other hand I too use this site for references, and it is dissapointing to see a bike that is thrown together with whatever parts they had lying around! This is a place to get together and show/discuss bmx bikes and parts, but it's also a place to LEARN about bmx. And honestly there isn't much to LEARN about this mongoose, except for the fact that Fox loves it! So I guess what I'm trying to say is that although you love your custom bike, if it's not even close to being correct at all it shouldn't be listed as a guide! Maybe we should have a section for "fun or custom bikes" so people don't get confused, some people might actually think this bike had a springer front end originaly? It's cool that you can submit any bmx bike you want here, and more than likely it will get submitted. This is what I love about the museum, as oposed to the other "if you don't have mx1000's or aerospeeds your bike isn't getting submitted" sites! But keep in mind before submitting a bike, people look at these bikes for refrences!

Re: 1982 Diamond Back Silver Streak
What's up RealFox? Did you ever think this bike would cause so much controversy? This is the perfect example of free expression. There's always going to be people who like customs and then the purists. It personally doesn't bother me either way. This bike has attracted a lot of attention. Whether it's good or bad, at least it strikes an emotion in people and that's true art. Good work!

Re: 1982 Diamond Back Silver Streak
I say that's the best use of a diamondback I've ever seen. Ever.
Do ya'll remember when DB came out?? It was cheap, heavy as hell ,and cheap.
Diamondback was freaking junk where I grew up we would have beat you up and ghost rided your bike.
We didn't call them a "wiper" for no reason.
I know this is a silver streak , , but still...
Didn't ya'll ever put 10 speed forks on your bike? or a 16" front wheel?
Or bolt one frame to the dropouts of another frame???
?
Let the dude customize it.
I say paint it hot titty pink.

Re: 1982 Diamond Back Silver Streak
D@mn, thanks ya'll, lol. I still can't believe all the comments on this thing. One of ya'll pointed one thing out that is 100% on-target. This thing is art. Ya know what? I'm a commissioned artist and this bike *is* (even if ya don't like it) art. I have another Silver Streak in the Diamondback section.
Cnoles, in particular, really hit the nail on the head. Good for you, Cnoles.
BGJG, thanks for your input, seriously. Never thought about what ya said about what another may think it looked like new. Ok, I'll edit it so everyone knows. Thanks ![]()
Now, everyone that hates it? Ya know what? Nee-Ner-Nee-Ner (VERY mature, eh? lol) I ain't changin' it. I LOVE this thing, and no-one could PAY me to change it. Period. So there..., lol ![]()

Re: 1982 Diamond Back Silver Streak
hey fox go for it the D.B looks like a FUN ride. Aint that what it is sopposed to be about, FUN and an enjoyment.I think its cool for people to mod there bikes however they want to its what makes things individuale. No matter what other peoples tastes or veiws are one mans junk is another mans treasure. Nobody has slated your 87 HUFFY SIGMA (NICE BIKE) everybodys PERSONAL TASTES are DIFFERENT thats what makes us INDIVIDUALES amoung other things
Now on a lighter note ............
