Had a nice conversation w/the Oury folks while at Interbike and they couldn't be nicer. I mentioned that I was a sticker hoarder and they told me that they recently found some old decals. I let them know that I would love to have some. Here is what they sent:

The top two (silver and "the Grip") must be at least 15 years old.

Go to their website and they will hook you up. I can't remember if they are an SASE or just email them your address.
Check out my old "stickers free or cheap" post, or the one that American BMX updated and alphabetized for the info.

You are one lucky man. I would love to have that banner. I am a die hard OURY man, and have been running the grips for 36 years now. Bill Oury (OURY Gips) was a co-sponsor of mine in 85 & 86. He lived about 5 miles away from me in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Unfortunately he passed away in 2002.

The bike shop team I was on was co-sponsored by Oury. I still remember the big box of grips that they sent to the shop. I still have that silver sticker on my number plate.

From what i'm seeing, and I could be wrong, they are used predominately for Road and mountain bikes more than BMX, although Oury has re-emerged and more BMX usage is happening.

Good for them.

Oakley, even though they are a better grip, IMO (but more expensive) had a monopoly on the grip industry BITD.

Oury was huge in the motorcycle grip supply too and still are very common in the vintage circle. A lot more so than Oakley.... Oakley was more known for goggles.

Cool stuff. I use oury grips alot. I had alot of sets just sitting around so i brang some to work and put them on our hand trucks.

I talked to Marti at OURY, and you got the only banner. It was their show banner at Interbike. Bummer.

anybody know when they changed from using the smooth part next to the flange to the ribbed part we see nowadays???

markmc97225 has done allot of research on this subject, so I believe he can answer your question. I believe it was late 70's to early 80's.
