1980 Nomura Racing

My sister just dug this out of the garage...

My dad owned a bike shop in Spring, TX and built this bike for my sister to race in 1980.  It still sits today exactly as my dad built it that day (except for the more recent awful tires).  He only used what he thought to be the best (and lightest) parts available at the time...

-20" Nomura frame (non-polished)
-forks (???)
-GT handlebars
-Suntour neck
-Dia-Compe MX brakes
-Sunshine hubs
-Araya 20x1.75 rims
-Red Uni plastic seat with blue cover
-Suntour seat clamp
-Black Bear Trap pedals (?) (says IKS JAPAN 3R-6 on them)
-Campagnolo alloy cranks
-Campagnolo sprocket
-reversible blue Johar California Lite pads

Re: 1980 Nomura Racing

Wow, this is crazy!  I'm glad I posted the bike and I think its great you all love it.  To me, my dad, and my sister it was just an old bike my dad built for my sister used to race and didn't think it was anything special.  In fact, my sister had it out at a garage sale a few years back for like $100!!! No one was interested so she put it back in the garage to save for her daughter to hopefully race.  But now her daughter isn't interested.  Oh well!

Anyway, I'm happy I found these forums to share this with you all!

Re: 1980 Nomura Racing

Just out of interest how do you know it's a 1980?

What is the serial #?

Just put a deposit down on a brand new Porsche and mentioned it on Facebook. I said, "I can't wait for the new 911 to arrive!" Next thing I know 4,000 f**king Muslims have added me as a friend!

Re: 1980 Nomura Racing

Just to update this thread...we did sell the bike to a big collector a few years ago.  It's in a better place now!
