Strip her or keep her as is?
Got this 83' PK ripper a little while ago and can't decide what to do about the finish on it. It was recently rattled can'd by the PO and while I like the color the finish is very rough, almost like when the painted it they used a base w/o the clear coat?![]()
I have always wanted a PK ripper that had a ball burnished finish, so my question leave it as is or strip and start over? Thoughts opinions?...
Pics for clicks...![]()

Try a light wetsand and buff before you strip? I like the colors. It's nice to see a PK with a different color scheme.

Is it just me, or is the stamp on those forks the wrong way? Something doesn't look right.
Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart," all I hear is, "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."

A looptail frame should sport an unstamped fork imo.

The bars I got from you are still in the box. I believe the ones on the bike now are GT's with a SE racing sticker.

Pretty sure the forks with the vertical stamp are 2nd gen?.... Look in the museum and you will see quite few on the 1985's.

Where we going? I was referring to your frame (pre-1985), that's all. Either way, its your bike so enjoy your build.
