1985 Repco Hotfoot Freestyler
1985 Repco Hotfoot Freestyler
First one on the site by the looks of it.
Love at first sight. now completely stripped and powdered. Old school meets new school.
I saw this on NZ trademe (like ebay) and new I had to have it.
The Repco's I remember in the day where very heavy sub standard rides and my Healing HMX 500 looked like god in comparison...and that aint saying much.(thing snapped on the downtube behind the gusset!)
This however was made by GIANT and is full chromoly. i couldnt believe have insanely light the frame was once stripped.(damn should have weighed it.)
It is a hybrid copy of a CW California (Mike buff edition) and an SE Racing freestyler. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when they designed this. Unashamed plagierism. Try that these days.
I am still working on it and have a few goodies I am getting built now. first is my copy of ladder bars. I have got an engineer to add a tube in the middle of a new pair of WeThePeople 750mm wide street bars. After not being able to get a layback seatpost at the right price i just got some 22 mm cromoly and had it bent for me! WaaLaa and off to the powdercoater.
I am redesigning the graphics also to suit my standards and so I have something cool to show when i graduate from Graphic design.
Ok thats about it for now. will repost pics once made.
Lost my leg in a motorbike crash this year...legless i am but you cant keep a keen man down! and you never forget to ride a bike

Mate! I 'm stoked to see this one on the site, I watched it on TM for ages.Couldn't decide to buy it or not.
Looks to be coming together real nice!
I think the skyways and spintech are from a Mongoose Decade, or are the same as.
Good effort! Instant Fave! ![]()

Nice work man!! I was the one who went to fair lengths to convince the TradeMe seller that what he was selling was a Repco Hotfoot Freestyler... he took some convincing! haha
So glad you got it and have done such an awesome job with it!! Top effort!
I'd say shoot me a PM if you need some decals (I have a spare Hotfoot Freestyler set) but you sound like you're got it covered! ![]()

Really? There's no 'Submit Bike' linke on the right sidebar menu for you? That's totally weird... maybe PM a mod about it?
