Re: 1985 Diamondback

this bike could be a 1984/85 super streak aba NO. 1 factory team diamondback and the reason why I say that is because of the top gusset it is smaller then it usally is I just got one of these bikes and im  building it up, thats just my opinion I could be wrong though thanks Pat!!!

Re: 1985 Diamondback

Whoever painted that CRX that color and put red wheels on it should be taken around to the back of the house and beaten to death with a mackerel.

Re: 1985 Diamondback

I'd check the serial first, could be on the underside of the bottom bracket, but a hunch tells me it might be on the inside of the left rear dropout wink

From there you can use this link to identify the model.

Re: 1985 Diamondback

I'm almost 100% sure that the downtube decal is from a 1987 Silver Streak.  I'm looking at the actual catalog from 1987 and it's an exact match.  But the weld plates between the top tube and downtube date it a bit earlier.  Good luck, pretty cool ride though.

Re: 1985 Diamondback

I had those downtube decals on my 1987 Viper, but it had no head tube gussets.  Best bet is using serial number and comparing with the DBs posted here.
Good luck.

I didn't even look at the dates on this thread. I'm sure you figured it out by now.
