1982 Mongoose Two-Four
1982 Mongoose Two-Four
Brought back from the dead
Hello BMX aficionados, I have here a Mongoose Two Four. Let me detail the bike. The frame has been welded upon, it's not perfect but if you're familiar with the brand, nary a frame came out of the factory straight. This frame had some "crackheadifications" to it, namely some pigeon s#$t welds and a few holes drilled for what purpose only the meth addled mind would know. Regardless I filled and filed them and you can see a few imperfections in the candy blue powder coat; I'd say this frame is about an 7 or 8 overall. The fork is a NOS unstamped SE racing Landing Gear that has been uncut, never used on a bike until now. The rims are Araya 7B's re-anodized and the hubs are high-flange Schwinn Varsity hubs that I polished to a bright finish. The rims have been re-laced with galvanized spokes. The rims a re shod with blue Comp III copies via Porkchop BMX. The bars are of the era but unknown to me as to their make, the stem is original, the grips re-production as the sticker kit. The seat post, clamp, and seat are all after market stuff as well as the brakes. The crank is a Mongoose crank and the chain ring is a Porkchop make, a nice piece. Overall the bike is very eye-catching and would be a happy addition to my stable except I only fiend for things with 26" wheels. . Thanks for your time, stay Rad!
A bicycle is like a toothbrush; you should have one and use it often.
