Ahhhhh! All makes sense now! Thanks fellas!
Anyone know the true history on him?? Family owned a bike shop....I remember he was one of the first guys to start poppin out JMC posts with his handy dandy stamp....but I do remember him having lots of true NOS stuff. I bought a lot of SE pads off of him when I first got into this hobby....wish I still had half of them!

Re: Sanderspeeds!
I remember he spoke in broken English (or typed, I should say) so you couldn't always understand exactly what he meant. It's interesting to know he's still out there, active, and on eBay.
I'm kinda glad I "drummed" this up again. I'm nostalgic that way.

The guy is dutch like me....and he lives about 20 miles from me an i tried to contact him several times and i'll tell ya he's weird! He doesn't want to have any contact.
He never had a bike shop but i was told he bought the last jmc lot from jim. I've also been told that he has a lot of true nos stuff.

also has 1 or 2 40ft reefers full of stuff, and yes most is nos and he will let it go when he want and needs money.
helped me several times with parts That i could not find.

Re: Sanderspeeds!
He never had JMC posts made, thankfully he had a good rapport with Jim - my understanding was his father was a distributor/supplier and sander was left with its remaining stock, he also got round to stockpiling old shop inventories because of his fathers connections (don't know how true that all is) ... I also know he was still racing for some time and selling at races. He's pretty eccentric to say the least.
He made the sander speeds in a joint venture with biaggio of vertego fame.

Re: Sanderspeeds!
I have two sets of his Aerospeed cranksets. Side by side with the real ones, it's hard to tell which ones are the real ones. His don't have any weep holes in the pedal boss,
Other than that......it's VERY hard for me to tell the difference. He actually did a halfway decent job of making very close to authentic ones. And last time I saw a set of them on ebay, they went for at least a grand.....

He did. I've used a couple of his spindles with never an issue.

it would be cool to see them all in person at once... i have seen real ones, prototype ones, and jdb's but not all at one time. also see the fake ones but not sure which fakes they were.

Re: Sanderspeeds!
The sanderego speeds were the closest, being that they duped the exact spindle design and all the weep holes thing and I believe the Allen bolts where metric instead of st'd were the only differences (other then that they were spot on repops)
The Johnny chopper/de ruins used a splined spindle ala profile cranks stylee ... So they are obviously different.
I don't know of any other repop sets.

Re: Sanderspeeds!
That's not right! My dad was the importer /distributor of jmc here in the netherlands in the 80's. And i've only seen him once on an oldschool meeting here in the beginning of 2000

Re: Sanderspeeds!
Jim denied any relations or business with Sanders or his family years ago in a thread on VBMX.
Many of the Sanderspeeds were (and may still be) sold as originals for a good bit of time before someone caught on and called him out.
