1987 Mongoose Californian Pro

Had a Cali pro to build and ended up doing my own thing with it.
Inspired by the decade pro of the same year.

After looking round for a mongoose project to build, I found a frame and then just put the rest together over the course of time.
This is now been ridden and enjoyed by my oldest daughter.

Re: 1987 Mongoose Californian Pro

Building it for my daughter was a cunning way of condoning another build to the Mrs.
I had the buzz of putting it together and the buzz carries on seeing her riding about on it.
Win win situation really winkcool

My Father once spoke to me and said "The way you look at your bike is the way I see My children, I look past the imperfections and rough surfaces to the beauty of the finished product."

Re: 1987 Mongoose Californian Pro

Awesome bike! I have a couple of them myself and rode one back in the day. It is a 88 model though. Frame may have been manufactured in late 87 but there was no 87 cali pro. Looks great though! Did you make the decals?

Re: 1987 Mongoose Californian Pro

The whole idea for the bike was a custom concept. Staying as close as possible to the original spec on parts but using a different color flow.
