Toying around with some new pegs
Just got into flatland, made some cool pegs I think? People are diggin them.. 1 7/8 dia, 4'' long. High quality aircraft alum "not cheap" 14mm rear, 3/8 front.... 5.35 oz per peg! Front will be tapered to fit fit all forks, like my wifes, mine will be flat for my flat St"martin forks!
Now to anodize them.
Hand made on a lathe 100% in Moline IL, one at a time !!

Those Haros are a good idea. Are those old school?
I used to shove whatever kind of expendable cap I could on my pegs to help preserve them, usually ended up crushing or falling out.

Looks very nice.
Did you consider leaving the ends uncut? Just a little room to pivot on at the very end? I don't know how needed that is, but that's how they made mine, and I can see the usage of the smooth strip.

Re: Toying around with some new pegs
The ones on the wifes bike are holding up fine!!!
FRONT-
REAR
A BUDDY WHO RIDES WAS TIRED OF BREAKING PEGS, EVEN THE EXPENSIVE ONES NOT NAMING ANY NAMES.. So we built a customset of 1 off pegs. 1.5 x 4.5 made from solid very High grade solid Billet alum, machined out for weight. If he breaks these, he will break em all. These will be a lil heavier then our other pegs, but twice as strong. Spendy material, but worth it!!!

Why not go titanium? They will be lighter than chro-mo and worlds stronger than aluminum and dont rust.

Re: Toying around with some new pegs
Nice pegs nick but if your going to compete in the peg market you`ve got to get the weight down. Tree balsa pegs look similar and only weight 5.11 onces a pair !!!!
what flatland tricks do you know how to do now ?? ![]()

These are bigger in dia then the trees and not paper thin.

I may have to do a same dia and length to the trees then to compaire weight. These are larger dia then trees, the trees you can slide into these with room to spare. Plus we use a piece of billet in the end for strength, which adds a little weight. We designed pegs to strong, comfy and durable. Building these for friends now, who says I am competing
I will do the big dia and the small dia. Im sure the small will be closer to the trees unless we do the solid billet construction which will add a lil more weight.
As for TI We are thinking of doing a set someday, but TI is way expensive and no one will buy those I am sure. But wouldnt mind a set for me.![]()
As for tricks.. learning slow, as for my bikes been apart for 2 weeks and dont have the time to dedicate to get good fast, but Im learning slowly and surly. I got way to many projects going at once, but Im learning and trying and thats all it matters..
I aint going to lie, the wifes getting pretty darn good for what little time she has been on a bmx let along a flatland bike.
All in all this is just something fun for us to do. Got some samples I will be shipping to some friends around the midwest to see how they like them. Only time will tell, but as of now I like em.

There nice pegs don`t get me wrong I`m not bashing , don`t underestimate the tree pegs though they`re super strong I`ve never seen one that has broke and I have been running them for a few years on a few of my bikes without any issues. The machining is tapered on the inside thin in the middle and thick on the ends for strength. ![]()

Re: Toying around with some new pegs
IF I know Nick, hes only getting started, and will only keep trying to improve on his ideas. You'd think that for such a simple idea, you'd get a simple design...but if you look through the thread, EVERYONE on here has weighed in on what could be done, what shouldn't be done, what can be improved, etc. Really, it all boils down to a riders preference. I can think of people that DO need thicker pegs and aren't weight watchers. I can think of people that want the diet pegs...I know of people that feel the ends of their pegs get worn too quickly. I just hope Nick keeps pushing forward and improving. Good luck, Nick, I hope you sell a lot of them!

Re: Toying around with some new pegs
Thanks Josh. Not currently for sale, just for my bro's. Ill get you a set too when you tell me what length and style you want! If everyone likes them, they get dialed, and we make some, then who knows! but for now its a fun hobby and i need to thank my bros Damon and Jim for helping me through this project.
