Strongest threaded fork?
I just bent my 3rd set of mongoose decade forks on my decade race bike (pics later). What would you consider the strongest but not stupidly heavy threaded forks out there, prefer pre 92.
out with the new in with the old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Strongest threaded fork?
if you don't mind you could always do the threadless conversion and use a threadless fork on your decade. all you need is a 1 1/8 a-headset, a tioga beartrap headset and use the cups from the tioga and the bearings and dust caps from the a-headset with a few 1 1/8 spacers and your ready to go with a stronger fork on a older frame.
WANTED:
any 1 inch hoffman superforks with stem 95-97 versions, 90s 36-39 tooth bashguard sprocket, black 1988 haro fst, red 1998 hoffman condor frame, black 1987-88 or 91 haro master.

Re: Strongest threaded fork?
okay thanks, that is what i thought. Earlier tange pinched ones are strong. I have tried and tried to bend them. pffbhh yeah right. I was doing 5 ft high jumps in the past and bent gt pro, schwinn predator and spinners forks all but tange.

Re: Strongest threaded fork?
try some tange trx forks, their from the early 80s but their very strong. when I was riding with threaded forks I swore by tange trx's, I was jumping small stair cases, jumping off 3 foot drop offs and using them on dirt jumps and they never bent on me. then again at the time 5 years back when I was using them I was 120 pounds though but not anymore.

Actually, I think Kid718 has threaded Standard forks. Hit him up. If he does, you'll tear the headtube off the Decade before you bend or break those.

Threaded Pitchforks are actually very wimpy. I have seen many sets bent.
You best bet is to do the threadless conversion if you want all out strength.
