OK, I will enter with my original first ever BMX from my childhood. 1980 Murray TRX. About as janky of a turd as can be.
I've been meaning to get around to restoring this but for obvious reasons it has been on the back burner UNTIL NOW!!
I do have the original parts.

Can this even be considered a race bike yikeslol

It looks like that has the same weird tapered top tube as my JC Penney bike ... the rest of the frame is a little different, but it looks similar in that way. Funny, I've never seen another bike like that, now here's 2 of them.

Bump for the morning guys.  The photo submission thread is a sticky!  Make sure to get them in by the 26th! I will have some nice custom trophies for the winners in each class!

Added my last two entries.
87' Murray SX-1 Pit Bike that's been hanging in the garage for decades.  I think my dad bought this anticipating a grandson bitd. I had a girl lol needs some work and a few incorrect parts replaced.
http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z475/Hrkhotrods/IMG_20120819_181836.jpg

My 2nd freestyle entry. I bought this 86' Jetter Freestyle from Jerzey Devil as a complete survivor but I'm going to fully restore it. The decals are faded, paint is scratched and somebody tried cleaning the bike with house paint.

If someone wants one that you will not find another one of, I picked up this trick ST Racking ST550 for free yesterday.  I will make you a heck of a deal!  Made in the USA by Huffy! Chain guard is intact.  I think I will put it in the shed for the next build off.

I now am wondering if the ST racing was Huffy code for (Stu Thompson)?  Probably not but who knows.

Re: Department Store Build Off - 2012 discussion thread

Nice! As long as I can have a drama free weekend, I plan on tearing my projects apart this weekend. I have my work cut out with 2 full restorations, one almost full restoration and my X24 which needs the least amount of work still needs a full teardown and some restoration on the blue parts, new tires, pedals and a correct stem. Whew! Tired just thinking about it lol but when this is all done, it will be cool to see them brought back!

To anyone who missed it, you need to have your pics in by the 26th in the stickied thread at the top of the catchall!!!

Love that bike! Do me a favor though - if you can remove those grips without damaging them and don't want them yourself, I have an actual use for them. Even slight damage might be okay if you use a razor to get them off, for example.

Thinking outside the box with my pro thunder.  I'm going to blast it hopefully this weekend and then go white/bright green.  I think the og color can't be saved.  I've got a set of peregrine mags on trade for my huffy sweet thunder girls bike.  Can I use those as my purchased item or are they too new?  I have no idea what year they are, but they are bright white.  If not, no big deal.  I've attached a picture of the mags that are currently on my DB.  Let me know

Yea, but I'm going to keep that one a survivor.  It's too awesome to paint.  Might put some yellow mags on it and clean it up, but that's it.

Are you going with a "pre-style" theme? (Taking an old race bike and modernizing it to freestyle era specs)

If so, as long as you stay pre 88 I'm cool with it. I did the same thing to my X20R in 85-86.
