Re: State Of War Victim thread..
It is imperative if paypal has not handled your claim to call them direct. In addition you will need to contact your local police and generate a report. If Paypal settles your claim, which they should, then paypal would then have to decide to proceed as the complainant. You can expect an update tomorrow evening or Thursday morning. The Harris County case will have proper suspect identification and the interested jurisdictions may attain it. The Harris County case is pending referral to the postal inspector, but it appears as though he is making good on the refund which will likely complicate things.

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
I just called PayPal. They assured me my money will be refunded at approx 10:24 AM on July 23rd which is exactly 10 days from when I opened my claim. I pressed them to close it now but they would not. ![]()

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
I got my PayPal refund ( I think). The email says " Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted". The email also says this:
"If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges".
What if the POS doesn't have the funds. Which he probably doesn't.

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
Got this from PayPal today:
Code:
Dear ..., We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favor. We were able to recover $150.00 USD and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted. If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to recover the balance from the seller. If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account privileges.
Yay for paypal. Now remember this when you have to pay those crazy fees! I just made a lot of those fees back.

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
So if the jackazz owes more than what he has in his account is Paypal going to reimburse you the balance themselves or do you have to wait til the scammer puts more money in?If they suspend his selling privileges he can just close the account. And then you are out the balance?

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
AT LAST!!! Yesterday received my $300 refund from PayPal...
Really hope we all learn our lesson, and learn from this unfortunate incident to be more cautious and see the "signs" that sometimes are right in front of us but fail to see and understand. Sometimes our emotions have a strong influence blocking and preventing us to see things as they develop and put a stop on time. Unfortunately as long as people have bad intentions and want to do harm they will ALWAYS find new ways on how to deceive, scam and trick people.
Once again, thank you amigo Sean [aka "Cracked another frame"] for bringing this thread to my attention, to RadDad for moving behind the curtains and blowing a big punch to this guy, and to all you Museum Admins, for taking proactive action against this guy.
Very much appreciated and valued,
j

Re: State Of War Victim thread..
When did you open the PayPal claim? PayPal will tell you to wait 10 days so that they can investigate, waiting for a response from Evan during that time. I believe all of us who got scammed by him received a refund right after the 10th day...
