It took me 2 days to score this 1984 Vector FS Unlimited.
Well well well , amazing how craiglist storys can turn out good.![]()
A couple of days ago I spotted this Vector freestyler on a Dutch craiglist listed as "stunt-bike".
I was so excited to see this gem for sale in Europe I called the seller immediately without looking at the asking price.
While my phone was ringing I mentioned the price and fell on the floor when I saw the 4 digit number. 2500 USD ![]()
Once I picked myself up from the floor my phonecall was getting answered by the guy.
I told him that I was intrerested in his stunt-bike & why the price was so high....bla bla bla.... you all know the drill.... I asked him if he didn't made a mistake when typing the last "0" digit on the price.... he said NO my son did a research and that's the pricerange those bikes are getting sold. We didn't agree on the price , that was clear... he told me he wanted to wait a few days and wait if someone would offer him the full asking price. I guess his mailbox was full ?
Yesterday the guy called me to come over and get the bike. I told him not on that full price man .... he answered me, no just knock off that last "0" like you said and it's yours. ![]()
Once I got there I saw it was an 1984 Vector FS Unlimited first gen in survivor condition and brought it back home.
I spoke the Vector man here through pm and after some pics he confirmed it was a 1st gen. Thanks Joe !!

The correct bars that I got from a friend, Thanks Paul !!

So this will be my next project guys.
If somebody knows where I can get a set of decals for this project this would be awesome. ![]()

Mentioned that the original paint has already been touched with a spray bomb by previous owner and I'd like to have a queen.

Outstanding FS

Would be nice if you could salvage the OG paint and decals. Please post pics when she is done.

I swear I need to have this rant cut and pasted into Word because it gets said so often.
What you have is extremely rare and people want it in it's OG condition. To paint and re-sticker that beautiful survivor is unnecessary. Just trade it to someone who can give you a rough one to do whatever you want with. That is still in good shape and will fetch more $ in it's OG state. If you refinish that, you are making a mistake. It is beautiful and deserves to be preserved.

I wouldn't refinish it either. The spray bomb can be removed and the original paint remain intact. It's really not that hard.

Re: It took me 2 days to score this 1984 Vector FS Unlimited.
Hmmmm... I have not decided yet... will first take away the spraybomb paint and restick the corners of decals that came off.
It's true original paint/decals are real and most loved by collectors but too far used I don't like.
Maybe after a good clean and build up with nice parts this bike will have another better look.

+1 , I hate when people do that. It ruins the bike. ![]()
I can not sit still. I have been tested for A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. and have neither. I don't need coffee, I just need a B.M.X. or surfboard to consistently ride and I'll be happy.

Goo Gone or Isoprophyl alcohol will more than likely remove all the spray paint and leave the decals intact. I just used both and it worked like a charm. I also vote to leave the original paint and decals on this one!
I don't believe in holding feedback for ransom. If you buy something from me, I'll leave you feedback when you buy. If I buy from you, I expect the same. If you wait for me (as a buyer) to leave you feedback first, before you leave mine, you won't get any.
