Re: Philly area - Saturday, July 21 - scenic ride in Bucks County?
Yo Jon! - good locale, this is about 20 minutes from me and right up the street from my pops place. I have a broken thumb that i'm supposed to chill on until early august but I'm dying to ride my autopilot tag tribute so I think I'm going to have to disobey doctor's orders and at least cruise aroudn the lake once or twice. I don't have an OS bmx to ride though, is the tag mobile kosher?
And an FYI for the fishermen: my pop lives literally a mile or two from the lake, is an avid bass fisherman (he's in Canada right now on a fishing trip), but he NEVER fishes the lake. It may be he just has better spots to fish but the last time I fished the lake, probably about 10 years ago, all I got were blue gills and I was throwing worms, top water stuff, and crank baits. If you guys want I can text him and see whats good with fishing the lake nowadays?

In my book, a BMX bike is a BMX bike so if you're willing to disobey your doctor then I'm willing to ride with you =]

Awesome G! Don't let me leave without paying you for my BBQ shirt.
Guys, I've created a trade page in the trade section, if you want to set up any pre-deals or list stuff that you might not want to lug with you unless someone wants it, feel free. I've got a small tote that is just about everything I'll bring unless someone is looking for one of my frames or bikes and I figure some of you may feel similarly:
http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.p … 8#p3646188
In addition, if anyone is on Facebook and has not yet been invited to the Philly BMX page, please click here and I'll approve you when I next get on there: http://www.facebook.com/groups/216485675123338/

He11 yeah! Doc said it would start to feel better before August and it has so its time to start pushing the clock. Those Profiles I got from you last time we met up are on the AP w/ fresh paint.
I can't view the trade page, mostly I just come here to droll over bikes and occassionally buy stuff, but I have stuff that needs a new good home. FBM Angel 20.5 F/F, 3/8" rear wheel, USA sprockets 33 - 30t, USA hub guards. Search the Philly CL for the ad, email me or PM me if you need something.
Got the scoop on fishing the lake too. My pop does fish at the lake on occassion and says that off the boat docks is decent because the water is deep close to shore. Near the dam is also good though you can't fish off of the dam. The other end of the lake has a decent deeper hole closer to shore. He did say it's tough from shore but those are the spots unless you wanna wade out there some. He said he got a 5.5 pounder out of it last year so there are some bigger bass in there, getting to them is the tough part.

I'm thinking that I am going to try and make this one, sounds like a good time. Looking forward to meeting all of you and getting in a good ride. My '83 Proline II is still at C4 so I will be rocking the '94 ELF Cruiser 24.

I pulled a 5# bass out of there last year on a popper at night. We went a few weeks ago and didn't catch a thing. It's hit or miss fishing but you can't beat the view.
I'M NOT ON HERE REGULARLY. WORKING ON MY HOTROD
Will trade bikes/parts for 29-31 Chevy roadster parts!!!

Re: Philly area - Saturday, July 21 - scenic ride in Bucks County?
So guys. Whats the terrain like at this place?
Trying to decide what type of bike to bring?
Are these trails? paved cement? Hills? flat? In the woods - or baking in the sun?
Will we be mud bogging? or will my flatland bike work?
Should I ride one of my lesser ridden bikes?
Sorry for the questions,
Just trying to decide the right option for the environment.
I'm thinking of riding my JMC (or maybe the GJS), but I don't want to be kicking myself if I'd rather be pulling decades on my PFT or Haro instead.
And I'd prefer not to run the GJS through a mud-bath either, LOL. ![]()
![]()
Also,
How long is the route (estimated)?
I need to be back in the city by 5, so i probably have to be packed up to leave D-town by 4pm.

I was really thinking I could make it Brian but I have to pick my oldest daughter up in Cortland, she is at my fathers this week. Take good pics so I can see how much fun I missed! Still waiting on my Redline from Chip so I'll get in touch when I get it back and show you some pics.

I'm not positive of this, but I believe we're looking at a paved trail, mostly flat ground. It's 6 miles around, so if we head out by about 1:30, I think we should be back in plenty of time for you to get back. Based strictly on the google map, it looks like we'll be in the shade on most of the loop.
I'm still trying to decide between my 20" Robinson or my 24" Mosh. The Mosh is big enough to be comfy but seems to get flat tires just by looking at it. The Robinson is freshly slapped together, so might be fun to ride but 20" are so freaking slow that I'm very hesitant about it. Maybe I'll just bring that aluminum Dyno I got and work on my bunnyhops =]

Cool, man, I may not bring my freestyle bike. Still haven't decided.
But if you bring the Quad, then definitely. that bike looks built to ride. ![]()

I need tips on some moves. I used to kick ass, now that I am old... not so much, HAHA.
I wasn't gonna bring the Quad cause the brakes are crap on it. Fine for moves that need no brakes... but since I'm not Trevor Meyer; I still need brakes, HAHA. Maybe I'll toss it in the van anyway. My Quad is the best riding bike I have... just those f**kin brakes. I spent HOURS on the rear brakes/rotor... and they are just mushy. The front should just need some tweaking. I rushed the bike together for the Philly BBQ, bought 2 bikes since and have been F'ing with them and not the Quad lately.

Thats surprising for nippons. But I totally understand. I have nippons on a ton of my bikes and they usually work great. but there's something wrong with the ones on my PFT rider. They just got mushy out of nowhere. I think I'm going to replace the hardware on them soon, and new cable.
The nippons on my Master rider stop on the edge of a dime. SO dialed.
We'll mess with stuff. Trevor Meyer is such an awesome rider.... I don't know how he used to pull off some of those moves with his seatpost 10 feet up. but he did.
See ya tomorrow.

yeah, my front Nippons are tight, but brake poorly, I think I just need to adjust them slightly.
The rears are a mix-match of a black set and a white set... could have something to do with it... I dunno... but yeah, the night I set em up, they were BEEF! now, more like tofurkey. ![]()
and BITD I swore by Nippons. But my ACS 860's on my redline and pure f'n BEEF. stop on a dime. I think it's that f'n rotor IMO.
Yup. Trevor Meyer was always my fave. Guy is a madman.

Forecast for tomorrow is 81 and morning showers. I'm planning on being there about noon. If it's too wet to ride the trail we can make a decision then but hopefully it'll be dry and gorgeous out by 1:30.

Yeah if the trails are all muddy and crappy - I say we ride through D-town. It's pretty scenic there too.
Plus a few great places to grub and hang if we decide to.

I'm totally cool with that. I've got no familiarity at all with D-town, so someone else will have to be our tour guide. Let's all still plan to meet at the lot as discussed at the park and play it by ear.
