Hey folks
Its been a long month away from y'all
Well something good came out of being banned for a while
It made me look elsewhere for my fix of bmx
So looking through CL, I ran into a lavender trick star being sold complete
Called and askef the guy just for f/f
He agreed on a trade for cw pro bars and some cash
I accepted
Now came the decision that a few might hate
three factors made up my decision....its a japan made..lavender is not my color...and I got it dirt cheap.

Looks like they did a good job but would have kept the original color which is probably rarer.

It really was a nice survivor but whats done is done
If it was a usa made I wouldnt touch it

You should be banned AGAIN!!!! What does it matter where it was made? That was a NICE original survivor...u coulda traded for a messed up one and got cash back probably....I hate those futuristic black and Im not a lavender dude either but it was TOO nice to redo it IMO

I think it looks good! And good decision! There certainly is NO shortage of those bikes! They may be expensive, but ANYONE can buy one today, with a deep enough wallet.

People only say they're rare because they cant afford them(including me)

I stripped a baby blue F/F and had it painted. Why? because I liked it better.

Before..

And after...

Always wanted a Trick Star...but not a baby blue one. And the original paint wasn't that great, not like it was NOS or anything. You don't have to agree with what others do with their bikes, but don't slam them for making a choice to do something that they like. This guys building the bike for him, not you.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but thought you needed some backup.

I got a white one I'm going to repaint. It belonged to a kid who died in a car accident back in 89. I felt a little guilty about breaking the bike apart but it had cheap parts on it and had been left to rot in a shed for years. Screw the purist, it's your bike. On a side note, I would have gladly traded my TS F&F for yours prior to paint...

If you bought it / own it..... Paint it whatever color you desire!!! You purists kill me with your comments.... If you like survivor / original paint etc. good for you!!!!! Not everybody feels that way ( to each his own )

It is his and he can do whatever he wants with it.....Not everyone feels your way either but we are entitled to our opinions and they should not bother you... I just say if its nice enough to keep OG....why not? Like I said he coulda traded or sold it to one of us "purists" for decent coin and got a messed up one and restored it.....what DONT make sense about that?

Would anyone care if it was a Norco Starfire?? No!! Now THAT is a rare bike!! I never see those for sale. People hear the word Hutch an the just get STUPID!!
