Dear BMXMuseum.... I scored. (Redline/Dyno/Mcs)

I never cared much for score posts, but now that I had one..... well, I don't mind them so much big_smile

I found these 3 bikes on Craigslist, 10 minutes from my house. The ad was listed on Thursday and I saw it Friday Morning. I figured somebody had gotten it already, but I called the seller anyway expecting the bikes to be sold. I called him at 7 AM and he said he still had them but they were at his old house and he could not get to them until later in the afternoon. Knowing my luck, I thought someone would get to him before me. Well, nobody did and when I called him back at 3PM he still had them. So I ended up with them.
The Dyno is a 10/85 frameset maybe USA made. It has GT pro bars and Diacompe brakes. No damage whatsoever aside from the weathering. This is going to be the wife's ride, so it stays pink.
The second one according to the owner is/was a Redline. It has some unknown alumium bars, MCS stem, unknown seat clamp, Tiger and font stamped tuff neck seat post, Kashimax Mongoose seat. 3 piece DuraAce cranks and KKT pedals. The frame is toast, the brake bridge is nothing but rust and split in two. The fork is fine though.
And last but not least the MCS styler. Seeing how much the framesets go for sale in the forum, I figure the only way I was gonna have one is if I could find it locally, complete and reasonably priced.  Well... Check, Check and Check.

Well, the styler won't stay chrome. I will give it a vinegar bath to get rid of the surface rust. Then ....
and about the swamp, it was worse. the bikes were left out in the open in the hot sunny and humid Miami weather for nearly 20 years.

Nice. Redline looks like a microline. Any pix of the fork dropouts?

Re: Dear BMXMuseum.... I scored. (Redline/Dyno/Mcs)

the Redline frame is 100% toast, it rusted beyond repair.
The forks though are OK and the drop outs are in very good condition.
I am going to put up a for sale post tomorrow with the parts that came out of the Redline.
