Love the early Street Beats!

Please don't powder this...  it looks awesome the way it is!  Add colors as you like, but the paint is in great survivor condition!

@five. I do like the idea of saving it. It has a coat of spray bomb on it but has the original finish underneath the decals. Is there a way to strip the spray paint and keep the survivor paint from deteriorating? That was my reasoning for wanting to re-powder/paint it. Didn't think it was possible to just strip the top layer. Thanks for the input!

Goo Gone works much of the time.  Take your time, and put it On a rag, wipe the paint off.  Shouldnt harm the OG paint.  And, someone will chime in, and say that it will wreck the decals, but it won't.  The goo is under the decal, and if you do it with some patience, and care, you won't have any problems!

Good to know Jim! I bought a set of decals for it already but it is the with all purple lettering except for on the down tube, which is green. That should match the scheme I am going for with the purple ano.

I like those supported lay-back seat posts on your bikes Peg01 and Jim! I have to get one of those!

I bought  a sleuth of pink parts for the Haro Sport and ended up with at least 14 shades of pink.
Wound up having a totally different set of parts powder coated pink to get some degree of consistency.

I know exactly what you mean w/ "Possible powder to components for complete match of color"
Been there. Done that.
My experience is that using one shade on multiple parts will allow other similar shades to blend in.
The tires, brake cables, seat and grips won't be an exact match but blends in overall.

Thank you for the new perspective on this! I am happy with how it turned out. I think the tires are too heavy for it (as far as color goes) and after getting the wheels back to white will go with a black tread. The other heavy color is the grips. The rest of them blend decently together. I have recently decided against powder on the components. Can't find the potts mod on the DK stem so I replaced it with a nice ACS white stem. Great insight and your build turned out awesome! Definitely a fan of it.
