1995 GT Speed Series XL
1995 GT Speed Series XL
The one i always wanted... UPDATED
I always wanted this one when it came out, but never got one....till now!!!! Already got some really nice 3pc cranks and pedals coming. Gonna use nothing but the best of the best GT parts on this one.
UPDATE 7/16/12
First off this is nowhere finished. This is updated as a riding-work-in-progress. Just wanted to ride it and share.
The fork is from a 96 GT Interceptor as well as the headset and stem.
The mint GT Pro 4 bars are from member Snyderman. Thanks man!
LizardSkin flangeless grips from a parts bike.
The crankset and pedals are from member Striker88. I think they're late 90s cranks?
The seat, post, and clamp came from a BEATUP Dyno Sonic I came across. Allen bolt is stripped so the Bell seat is stuck as i found it.
The wheel set is Suzue sealed 32H on Araya RB-17.
KMC red chain (all the local bike shop had)
I have a GT Stilletto fork coming for this one also.
With what i have added to this frame i am disapointedin how heavy it became. Mostly the 3pc crankset I'm sure.
I'm going to be getting the period correct 3pc crankset, different pedals, a NOS seatpost and seat.
Debating on going period correct team model, or making a lightweight-as-can-be project...... Lemme know what ya'll think.
WANTED!!! Early 95 GT 1 1/8" stem "stamped" "Speed Series stem", 95 GT Team Model "overdrive" sprocket chrome, GT 36H sealed Mohawk hubs or wheelset ,Early 90's GT Pro size handlebars (uncut), Early 90s GT Pro Series cage pedals 1/2" and 9/16", early to mid 90s GT flanged logo grips clear!!! If u got it, get at me.

Re: 1995 GT Speed Series XL
Looking good so far. Personally, I'd go with a period correct build (http://issuu.com/pharv85/docs/gt-dyno_1 … geNumber=4), but that's just me
. With that said, I really like your 32H wheels, sprocket, and seat post and clamp. Great job and I can't wait to see how this turns out!
p.s., Snyderman is a great Museum member and he has helped me out a ton over the last year or so. I'm glad that he could help you out as well!
Wanted: 43T scalloped Profile 110mm chainring; red Profile cone washers; Black or silver Profile bars; GT Power Series (Big Man) and Big Man II pedals
