Re: Any bikes you're just sick of seeing?

Fellas, I'm a newb, so maybe I don't RATE to post a comment on bikes I don't enjoy seeing.   I like to see the variety because it gives me inspiration at times, but other times, the bikes I've seen show me poor taste.  I saw a Early 2000's Haro bmx on craigslist with the frame TOTALLY wrapped in multi-colored taped that reminded me of a a kid's Xmas presents throwing up!  He called it "custom".  I called it eye sore.  I also saw a camouflage spray bomb ed bmx on Craigslist that looked like it was stolen.  I guess what I'm saying is whenever I need a good laugh i go to craigslist, and whenever I need inspiration, I COME HERE!cool

If I had to honestly answer, it'd be this. No disrespect. Not gonna go on that tirade again. roll

But for my fixie comment, velodrome bikes are neat or whatever. Not my cup of tea, but I don't have anything against them. But fixies on the street? Why? neutral

I love color coordinated bikes. I remember seeing them as a kid and just thinking they looked terrific. I've seen it done bad as well, but when done right, looks like art

It's not bikes I'm sick of.. I can't really get sick of bikes..

It's the "score" threads.

Trick Stars. Not that they're not cool, just sick of seeing them. They all end up looking pretty much the same to me.

Function over form brother.  Appearance = poser, Performance = rider.  It's supposed to be about what works best.

What? You guys no like the hipsters? smile

For me its the fact that they are just being plain stupid. the BMX bike has evolved over 40 years. In that time we have pretty much perfected the tech. These dufuses come along and decide to try and ride a fixed gear bike with basically a ten speed/road bike frame like a we ride our BMX bikes. Why? he idea of riding the way they do with a fixed gear is counter productive. Now I get it there are some bike companies building fixies with BMX tech but that still doesnt change the fact that riding the way they do with a fixed gear makes no sense. However if you want to do stupid...be my guest. The only real thing that twisted my knickers was when SE placed the PK name on their new fixie bike...
