Has Anyone Made a Piece of Furniture from Bike Parts??

I'm thinking of making a cool lamp from some forks.
Has anyone made furniture from bike parts like sprockets, forks, bars, whatever?

I found this online, from car engine parts and thought it was cool

Post 'em up!

I haven't personally, but it seems that chairs and tables are the main items

I made a wall clock out of a GT mag years ago. but couldnt get it to hang right.
I bet fork lamps would sell, it's a good idea.

Re: Has Anyone Made a Piece of Furniture from Bike Parts??

A kid got hit by a car in my hometown. At the spot where he got killed, right outside a shop, the guys made a cross by welding some camshafts together and stuck it in the ground. They even give the kid's family free oil changes. Talk about cool!

I've seen a few benches made out of snowboards and skis when I lived up in Plattsburgh. Pretty cool.

First off, my bad. Just saying I've seen stuff made from sports stuff. A little off-topic, yeah.

Secondly, get over yourself. Why would I think it was cool a kid got killed? I thought it was cool of the shop owner to give the kid's folks free oil changes, and for one of the employees to take the time and effort to make a memorial for the kid. Chill.

hmm

A user here has an avatar with what looks like a chair made of bike wheels on a dock or something. Can't for the life of me remember who, but it sure doesn't look very comfortable. lol

Re: Has Anyone Made a Piece of Furniture from Bike Parts??

I made a desk for my son out of two frames I cut the chainstays off and drilled two holes in the seat tubes and lag bolted the frames to the wall then used 3/4" a grade plywood for the desk top and nothing was wasted the chainstays were mounted to the top of the desk for some book ends  I wish I could find a pic of it I did that in my house in Florida so I don't have it anymore hopefully o can find a pic somewhere I'll look

Not a furniture but I've hacked an old BMX frame and converted the rear triangle to a truing stand (it was a Walmart bike)

Re: Has Anyone Made a Piece of Furniture from Bike Parts??

In my shed I srayed an old Tuff bright green and wired a light in the center. It also has a KMC chain running next to the cord too. It just hangs in my shed from the ceiling, its not amazing... but its different. big_smile I may have a pic........
