Started working on the ground master I picked up last weekend... This frame has a lot of history behind it but is in need of repair. The top tube is cracked near the headtube and the one drop is a little tweaked but its a frame worth saving...

As I picked it up...

Paint/decals stripped... Decals removed, Group1 tapered fork

Threw it together with a NOS threadless GT fork, my one off threadless Group 1 stem and some parts box cranks/wheels and took it for a spin over the weekend! Rode sweet!

Bought a pair of NOS Aray and a pair of Haro Heffer rims from Jerzey Devil. Having the Heffer hubs laced to the NOS hoops. Slotted axles will get them on the bike!

man, that left side segment in the tt looks gnarly!! but we can all see it's gonna turn out great. nice pick up!

yup blew me away. he had that bike since day one right out the bike shop door. + he got dave volcer to ride it!

I would have never let that frame go!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when he offered it to me. I tried getting it when we traded the VDC fork on his GJS.... No luck then with that one

lol... I have a real 87' Harry... I'm liking it all chrome. I think I will have this one replated once the cracks are properly repaired... The crack that Matt's dad welded I am leaving alone...

frame fork and bars look like the only stock parts. so if you think they would look good on the Ground master go for it's your bike now. but then it will not look like Matts old bike. like you said you wanted.

I agree that his bike looks just plain bad ass from bitd but some of the parts are out of my league(super pro's, power series cranks) so I plan on doing it close to his with some tweaks. I have a pair of Y2K KneeSavers to put on it(black not chrome ) a GT Mallet, Group1 forks like he ran before the GT forks... I figured I would get the OG fork for the bike while I'm at it and have them replated to match... I may spring for the Primo Powerbites and maybe a set of HP48's.

I may be interested in the fork/bars you have... If/when I pickup the Sport, I will PM you and see what we can do...

Picking my wheels up Monday! Also the bashguard Sport. May flip the Sport or just use forks on this for now. The GT threadless forks are heavy as fluck!
