The non braced pedals aren't first gen. They're later. Braced xc-2s are correct for this.

Re: 1983 Kuwahara Laserlite
Nice one. I was just going with whatever I could find on that in terms of the bodies. Have you got a set floating round in NZ somewhere that are spares?

Re: 1983 Kuwahara Laserlite
Nice Laserlite! I always like the Kuwaharas. They were tons lighter than my old Mongoose Franken-freestyle bike I rode in the 80s.
I just located a KZ-1 at my neighbors house. They got it for their kid at a yard sale. It even has the original crash pads! Now I'm trying to figure out how to offer to buy it without looking like a creepy 40 year old wanting a kids bike. Argh!
Yeah...my parents named me Dan Owen Grove so you can see what my initials spell...DOG.

THanks for the positive comment!
Classic! No way around it. You're always going to look like a creeper when you try and buy a 20" BMX.
Even worse when the wife finds out you're stashing parts in the car, under the couch and the bed

KZ-1's are too cool. You gotta get it! I reckon along with the KZ-83's they are my favourite Kuwies!

Re: 1983 Kuwahara Laserlite
I just spoke with the kids father. He seemed a little hesitant and asked why I wanted it. I was honest and told him its collectible. I offered him $100 and he said "OK"! Wow!
I'm just waitin till he gets back (they were on their way somewhere). I have $120 burinin a hole in my pocket. If the deal goes through, pictures to follow!

Love the Elina and the cranks! Mean find. Totally jealous as I reckon not that often that things like this come round at a good price! Suntour power stem too by the looks of things.

Hopefully he does not find out just the seat is worth
more than you paid for the whole bike. Nice one dude.
Yes dear that IS the same bike. No, it's not a new one.

Also, sorry to GARI-KUN that your thread now is about a completely different bike. Lol.
