Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
I sent the owner an email, I don't have the cash as I'm saving up for some parts for sale here, I was into quality stereo equipment for many years ( hence the name Snagmaster ) and asked if the owner wants to do a trade, you never know?.

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
I started digging and it seems that it's a GT Show, it looks like a really small TT though.

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
Saw this earlier today. It looks like the bastard child of a Show + a Vertigo. Didn't Shows have different dropouts and detangler tabs on the headtube?

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
It's not like any Show I've ever seen. Does have the geometry of a flatland bike, but I'm pretty sure it's not a Show.
I wonder if it's even a GT??? ![]()

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
Plus, the bottom bracket area is way different then any Show I've seen. And the frame doesn't look "short" enough.
And is it just me, the angle of the pics or whatever but do the wheels look really small? Like 18" wheels?

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
The swooped top tube came out in 98 on the Show 98-2000, Tour 98-2000, Pro Performer & performer untill 2001 . vertigo followed the performer in 99 on. The 2001 Dave Voelker Metal Issue also had the swooped top tube. The ONLY one I know that is ally is the Show. ( Pic of 2000 Show out of Catalog below) (show frame design is the same from 98-2000)
But is Def not a Show, Join on the top tube, down tube, head tube is wrong. No pac man rear dropouts. BB Setup is not correct. Headtube, downtube, top tube join looks like tour, seat stay to top tube looks like +98 performer. Toptube extends thru seat tube like a performer/tour not short like a show. Has no seat tube gusset, like 98-2000 tour, tour2, pro performer, performer, vertigo Voelker. Rear drops look like 2000 performer.
Anything +2000 I'm not sure on, They went bust in 2001 so who knows what they thru out the door to sell, maybe a Prototype? never seen anything with a mixture of different models mixed + in Ally???
If it is GT Def worth grabbing IMO, + I love that series of frame styles

Re: Mystery Aluminum GT, anybody identify it?
I have not talked to the owner yet but will try today, it's not advertised as new and he states that the forks are not original, the perspective can be off in digital pictures as I found out before but it does look short coupled somehow, there are no details about the wheel size but I would think it's a twenty inch, I don't care if I end up with it but I love aluminum GT's and would like to get it for my collection, I just look at the cookie cutter design of the BMX world in the last couple of years and it makes me want to take a nap, I want the weird and different and not common for my collection without breaking the bank.

Definitely not a GT Show...
Bike if it really is a GT, looks very unique.....like a 2000 & 2001 GT Performer with Short Top-Tube & Aluminium construction. But i bet it's newer than 2001..or maybe a 2001 model.
