1987 Redline RL-20 Prostyler
1987 Redline RL-20 Prostyler
a nice survivor with some nos parts
IN THE 80'S see a redline in mexico was near impossible due to cost double the U.S. and only 4 shops were selling freestyle bikes then have an age almost unimaginable, the years passed and one day looking for parts on a site I found a 1990 dyno slammer and buy it and after talking about the wonderful years, he tells me: my mom has a frame stored in the closet, and I imagine a frame of a sunset or something, then his younger brother came out with a frame and fork. `I could not believe a pro styler rl20 and almost fell my back. after a few months One day a good friend brought me a pair of blue kenda then I got acouple of acs 860 new, then another friend said, he found a pair ofnew five-spoke wheels and went for them, finally missing the bar the "v"bar next to impossible, until one day walking, I saw a bike that carried him and negotiated about 2 hours and finally I have it and the end is this beautiful redline named" stacy "

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20 Prostyler
I have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Pilares since the good old days, and I must say he's one of the few BMX legends left in this part of the world.
This bike has some interesting modifications it would be nice to talk about. Why dont' you tell us about the back wheel?
Hope to see you this weekend at the spot...!!

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20 Prostyler
that are the most touch words that i heard or read,
i`ts such an honor to meet here a heavy bmx pro rider from the 80's to this days!! ok when we found the NOS ACS mags, we got a big surprice, we have 2 front wheels and no options, so we think how solve this problem, taking measures and put together the sprock & mag and i say: let's make a tread on the aluminum base, and an extension to center the mag whit the frame, when the wheel was taked to the tread machine, i'm so scary because they have NO CARE handling parts, they are BARBARIANS!
so the suffer starts the first prob. was fix the mag properly without hurt em, the n ew tread is on! now, the extension tread adaptor , now with my grease parts ready i washed for 3 times the mag, after this when i put togheter the parts i find another problem, the separator item take the mag carry all to the left so, i lift off the sep.put again the spr. move the axle to the left and a litlle cilinder tube on the axle and wha. la. the mag fit perfect on the bike and ride on!
see you in there:cool:
