1984 Pro-Lite Privateer
1984 Pro-Lite Privateer
Super-rare Pro-Lite Racing Products Privateer race BMX. Having searched the web, I can't even find another picture of another one like this!
This is totally OEM spec, unchanged from when it left the factory (with the exception of swapping the rear wheel bolts for some footpegs of the time) - it has:
Suntour Stem
Dia-Compe MX brakes (with original Dia-compe pads!)
Black Araya rims / Suntour hubs / original Chen Shin skinny amber-wall tyres
Sugino Crankset
Tange Bottom Bracket
Suntour Bear-trap pedals
Ovular bladed front forks

Re: 1984 Pro-Lite Privateer
Thanks Burning River - I remember drooling over it for ages in the bike shop before I had built up enough cash to actually buy it!!
Sadly, it's now time to let it go, as I've got too many MTB and road bikes sitting the garage. Time to let someone else enjoy it. Do you have the least idea of how much it might be worth?
Ebay isn't helping me much as there hasn't actually been a Pro-Lite go through at all recently, and I've seen some bizarre examples ranging from a Raleigh Burner (won't mean much to anyone outside the UK), that was pretty mint go for about £300 (which astounded me), through to a Kuwahara that fetched more than £3k!! (that was jaw-dropping).
Consequently, I'm none the wiser as to what this might be worth......
