Who's down for a Baltimore ride?

So anyone want to get together for a Baltimore ride? I helped put the DC ride together and it turned out great! We had about 40 bikes show up hung out and a few swapped parts before then did an 8 mile ride. I kind if have a route in mind already. Starting in Canton lots of lots and free parking going through the Inner Harbor or around because you can't ride bike in Harbor place property. Then heading over to the Key Hwy side and back maybe ending up at Charm City at the end of the ride then there are plenty of place to eat and drink if anyone wants to hangout.

Here is the DC thread just to check it out.

Yeah lets do charm or Rockburn or even the track at Severn Danza park or something, much better than just pedaling around the Inner Harbor.

And I'm not saying that because I'm scared of Baltimore, its just that it's more fun to hit jumps or ride a skatepark than pedal around

SPbmx- wrong my brother. B-more hs sooo many street spots .
Plus this is family event and most guys here don't ride like us so they would just be sitting there...

Re: Who's down for a Baltimore ride?

I might be down for this, as far as black and white neighborhoods, I've seen meth'd out white hood's and bombed-out-black hoods along with less-than-lovely-latino hoods in my travels and Baltimore is pretty tame. I'm more worried about poppin' tubes more than anything else....

Re: Who's down for a Baltimore ride?

This weekend might be an interesting time to ride in Baltimore.

War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration in Baltimore

The week-long War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration will launch in Baltimore on June 13, 2012 with an international Sailabration of ships sailing into Baltimore Harbor. Exciting events include historic land and water tours, a variety of rich family and group recreational activities, exciting War of 1812 battle re-enactments, live entertainment and music, exhibits and displays. The Bicentennial Celebration will culminate with an amazing air show featuring the Blue Angels on June 16 and 17, 2012.

Visit the historic shrine at the Fort McHenry National Monument, tour the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House, and see the original draft of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Maryland Historical Society. Click here for more information about the Star-Spangled 200 War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration in Baltimore.

Couple of problems....
1) this weekend's Father's Day.
2) can't ride around the inner harbor.

Yes your def can't ride right in the Harbor Place area but there's enough other things around to ride to and just nice sights in General even if we just ride around that area.

Re: Who's down for a Baltimore ride?

I ride every week between CANTON and the Harbor, sometimes up to DRUID HILL park, and out to Ft McHenry.  99% of Baltimore is safe as houses for any BMXer.

ROCKBURN is a blast, but there's a lot to see and to ride just cruising around.

Carroll Skate park is in the city, but could be hazardous to ones health to ride there, and I'm not just talking about the nasty tight transitions.

Re: Who's down for a Baltimore ride?

@ RYAN71:

I'm fat, old, and more of a cruiser, you'd be bored to tears riding with me.

I'd be riding Bmore this weekend, but busted up my hand a bit at Rockburn on WED (being stupid on a demo bike), so may give it a break this weekend.  There's a Bmore Bike Block party on Friday the 29, don't know how many riders will be on BMX bikes, but I'm planning to show and check it out:

Since you mentioned yer local, got any idea where this spot is (at 51 seconds, that brick mound launch spot)?
