1970 Schwinn Stingray
1970 Schwinn Stingray
Another bike from bmxmuseum vault, shown as an early example of bicycle motocross conversion. Simply removed banana seat, and added dad's old motorcycle bars! We had to use 2 left grips, cause most grip sets available were motorcycle and had larger right hand side for throttle.

Re: 1970 Schwinn Stingray
My neighborhood was full of bikes like these in the Mid 70s. We used to grabage pick the seats off old 10 speeds, add a set of moto x bars and grips, maybe even a double clamp stem. This takes me back to simpler times. Nice bike gary. ![]()

some of the first bikes used for bmx ![]()
schwinn was best forawhile cause the frames were brazed together. when other cheepies were stampped and spot welded together 'those frames commonly cracked/snapped..
If my prices are unjust, shoot me an offer
Looking for some decent 'rider' pegs Aluminum about 4in long and 1.5 to 2 in wide.
