Sure, but it's hard to get a score on NOS parts, especially these. If no one is paying these prices, then why do people always list them at those stupid prices?

Collecting in only big so long as whomever it is doing so, wants to.. When the said "collectors" pass away.. there's no doubt the family will either just .. toss out or sell all the stuff for pretty much nothing...

So if anything.. wait maybe 25 to 30 years.. on in some guys cases.. 5 for a free-for-all of good parts.

Either the Suntour Mp 1000's (i think they are MP's) or Hutch....those would be my first 2. I am certain there are a few other pricey pedals...but the names allude me.

yeah, i had a tip yesterday that there was cache load of bikes sitting in a shed by the lake and im going but went to check it out. it was nothning but junk mtb bikes. Im glad its not diamond backs or mongooses sitting by themselves. just gotta look and ask around.

MILE HIGH SEAT POSTS. Nothing worse than a real nice looking build and then the guy puts the seat post up 12 - 16" and post pics of it! Looks gay and as if you can ride a bike with the seat post that high! I would love to see a picture of someone actually trying to ride a bike with a seat post that high.

nah.. the wheel will slide forward no matter what.. The stronger chain just won't snap. Tensioners.. well "stoppers" not to be confused with the deraileur like jockey things, also protect the dropout from forming a "hole" from the cone nuts and axle nuts/washers.. Many of my GT's are plaqued with nice holes or crush marks..

I think mainly Chromey means, like VG spurs on a 80s bike.. It does look "off". That VDC probably doesn't see any riding torque either.

Yeah - I agree, the stoppers make sense for certain types of riding.

But Honestly I see them used as decoration way too many times.
They're gaudy, bulky - and 95% of the time - completely unnecessary.

I don't see what the problem with putting Suntour XC-2s on a Changa is. I was never a big fan of those pedals, but from 83 to 86 it was never uncommon to see them. It's not like he put Wellgos or Victors on it...

Oh, and my biggest pet peave is Z-Rims on any race bike made after 82. That shit's just wrong.

One piece cranks. It ruins ANY bike. I hate it when I see a bike all decked out with awesome parts but it has opc's.

Remember bitd when we saw a bike with 3 piece cranks? How awesome it was. Well, that's the way it should be.

Matter o fact, I hate them so much that NONE of my favs here at the museum have a 1 piece.

I just couldn't fav a bike with them on there. Goes against every moral fiber in my body.

Thats funny, I was thinking the same thing about my 84' CW I'm building as just a fun bike/rider bike with extra parts I have, made up of double pinch Redline cranks, repop seat, Porkchop small parts and tubes/tires, a 2011 brand new SE Landing Gear fork and of course BIG OLE CW BARS!!!! Now that I think about it, with it being considered a race bike I was also planning on using a GT Laid Back seat post too.......oh the horror

This is funny, since on most of the local rides.. every guy had either a flat tire or a tire come off their Z rims.. just riding on a smooth surface.

Grew up in the 80's.

Never really liked GT's because you didn't see to many with 3 piece cranks.

The "cool" bikes had the 3 piece mannnnnnn.

complete factory spec builds... Call me crazy but there were very few bikes where they got every piece and part correct straight from the factory... Furthermore I never rode a bike that was completely stock, we made fun of kids who rode completely stock bike... It's just an extension of your personality and putting your spin on what's there.
