Is there a certain part that someone has on their build that just ruins it for you?
It could be a real nice build, but with that certain part it makes your blood boil, and you are like WTF man, why did you put THAT on there??

Or the opposite, where the handlebars are bent so far back you can steer with your knees. Cant stand gyros on race bikes either.

cant stand droopy chains either....hell....dont put a chain on it all. It will still look cooler than a droopy chain.

The pegs on race bikes, I can tell you that in the late 80s/early 90s my friends and I would do this. None of us raced, we all rode dirt and street, though. This was when street meant a bank to wall ride or peg grinds along a bench. The frames were generally as strong as freestyle bikes, obviously lighter weight and the pegs actually served a purpose. So, a survivor that shows grind damage on the pegs or chainstays I have no problem with the new owner leaving it as it sits. A Californian built with Skyway pegs because Cru Jones did it... ehh, that's okay if it's your thing, I guess....

i would agree with that to. it hides the craftmanship of the welds. especially these ol'skool bikes that were hand welded up..

so, I am from chicago and never heard that term "chicago'ed out". is that when the bars are too far forward? I push mine forward just so they don't hit the front tire. is that too far? do I qualify?

What kills it for me is when I see a great bike and every part is tight until my eyes get to the pedals...and the dude cheaped out on the pedals with some VP or other modern/cheap thing.

Anything that says "Hi Caliber" on it. I'm not a Hutch hater, but those parts were a half step up from department store junk.

Redline "V" bars. Never liked those. I agree with the backward seat guts post, it looks unbalanced. Not a big fan of the droopy, pointed down seat angle either. Don't get me started on the extremely forward pushed handlebars. Did someone already refer to those as Chicago Style?
