Dude was weird

I'm pretty sure he must have been the guy asking me questions about my parts as I was loading up the truck. I haven't really looked to see if everything I had with me is accounted for, so for all I know, he could have walked away with some of my stuff too. I wasn't paying much attention to him at all. I will be if I ever see him again though.

Hopefully he took that seat you can't get rid of! lol

haha!!!  Larry tried to stick that tweaked Redline seat in my car on Sunday!!!  It went into the trash...but i sold the guts for $356.85 first.  They were prototypes.   lol

I was also there right at the end and spoke with jpb71 who was insistent that I take stuff and was filling my arms with food to take home. I've still got some pickles and baked beans at home, in fact, and my stepsons were gnawing on pretzels for 3 days until they got too hard to eat. I'm sincerely sorry if anyone thought I was just grabbing stuff to grab stuff - I was told the same thing, that if someone didn't take it home it would go to waste. I was also told what stuff I could or could not take. For example, water was off limits, so I didn't touch it.

He said he was from jersey city and asked if I would have him to my house to buy stuff - told him it dont work like that and that my house isn't a place of business, I don't do business there and he got all tweaked .....
To be honest, I see him again, you may have to ask me to leave the event.

When ya gave him a ride home, did he have a pair of wheels he had gone there with ? I'd say it's time for a neighborly visit.

Glad I missed the F$k tard...don't know how considering where we were but I did. smile

Re: 2012 Philly Old School BMX BBQ 6/23 (Swap/BBQ/Show) and Ride 6/24 !

Members, just to set the record straight, myself and the other grill master were telling folks at the end of the BBQ to take the stray items that were lagging behind.  We were told that the drinks were to be saved for the following days ride and they were.  There were a few cases of water left and loads of rolls, various snacks and such.  These items were still sitting in the lot.  We told the remaining few members to take the the food or it would be left in the lot for pillageing. Anyone who was helping out by taking water, energy drinks, sodas, for the ride, were already gone.  Unfortunately G had already left to take care of other stuff and we were left with the pile of goods.  This is when it was decided that the remaining few members could take the leftovers, including the large amount of rolls which went unclaimed.  These did go to a church donation as well as other items.  If someone wanted something, they should have spoken up.  No one was trying to cheat anyone out of anything that night.  In my eyes, it was for the members to take.  Not the random passers by.  Someone had the audacity to try and steal bike stands and actually stole two of my wheels.  I would think that amongst members, this would more of a concern.

Those of you who had taken leftovers, it is what it is.  You were only doing as advised

I AM SORRY THAT IT TURNED OUT THE WAY IT DID.

Hey G.

Thanks for hosting the event. It was another awesome show and I sure did spend alot this year on bike parts compared to last year.
I brought a good friend of mine, Sonnyto the event. He liked the show and the bikes alot. He also bought alot of parts from C4.
On a bad note i also brought another guest to the event. This guest name is Mel, and was very excited to be at the event.
His member name on this site is dyno.
I met Mel after the New Jersey ride show when he was looking at all the parts and was asking how to join the group.
Sonny, I have know for more then 10 years and is a very very good friend of mine. Sonny does not steal, he has a good job and wants to get invovled with the bmx community. He has a couple of bikes of his own here on bmx museum.

Mel i just met him for a half and hour after the jersey ride was over. I dont know anything about Mel
I regret giving a ride to this new guest called Mel for the following reason. During the show my friend sonny told me that he witnessed Mel
stealing one of ultrahives tshirts, while ultrahive was talking with other people.
After reading your post G. i am having second thoughts that this person Mel could of taken more items.
I personally did not witness him take stuff, but i will never ever invite him or help him out in any way.

I got some pictures of this person Mel so other memebers can see who i am talking about.
He did tell my friend Sonny he will attend future bmx events. All i can say to other members is watch out for this guy.
Mel is not my friend, i brought this guy to the show as a show of friendship to a person who was very excited on bmx.
I never knew he would steal from ultrahive, i guess i learn my lesson not to trust anyone.

Here is the Pictures of Mel
his real name is Carmelo Mel Jundy Rivera

http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy31 … -three.jpg

Hey dude,  I don't know Carmelo well, actually not at all other than he introduced himself to me while I was manning the grill.  Talked to me for a while, and I never got a bad vibe from him.  On that note, I did give him a bunch of stuff for free, two seats, and some other odds and ends which were in a white bucket.  I don't want him getting jammed up for that stuff because I did give it to him.  It was crap I was just gonna toss in the trash.  I don't know about any other stuff that went "missing" other than someone stealing my two rims and some else trying to walk off with another members bike stands.  Mel came to me and bought a bike and two setd of mags, as promised.  I just don't want to see someone being slandered or accused falsely.  But again, this was only my interaction with him, not others.  I am sorry you had a bad experience with him.  He has been trying to contact me about all this crap and I am really not into this drama.  Anyway, have a pleasant day.

I dont know what happened with the food ... It seems that there was a lack of communication amongst the food staff about the food left in the end and I'm glad much of it went to a good cause.
I really appreciate ALL that you put into helping and it sucks someone stole your wheels.

I've been trying to call you to talk to you about it all as well as seeing if you wanted a pair of wheels I have to try to replace the ones that were stolen from you.

I had this all synched up to different music, but encountered issues with copyright violations, as always. Apparently I'm still in violation, so you probably can't view this on a cell phone. If you are on a PC and have 15 minutes of your life to waste, have a look. It's in HD, so open it in a new window if you want to jack up the resolution.

Re: 2012 Philly Old School BMX BBQ 6/23 (Swap/BBQ/Show) and Ride 6/24 !

Wanted to post some pics but that aint happening for a while so I'll chime in with this. The event was great! Kudos to G, Jon, and all those that made it possible. I'd love to return next year show or no show. The hanging out, games, swap meet, and antics are more than enough for me.

I met Mel too and he seemed cool. Bought some Redline decals off me and we talked for a while about him racing in the Philippines bitd.

Anyhow, thanks for a fun time and thanks to all the people posting images and vids of the day. Looking forward to next year.

Awesome vid Larry.
Thanks for all the work documenting and editing again!.
Sorry I missed the ride on Sunday. It was the beginning of my vacation that day. I had to hit the beach. smile

Looking forward to the next ride.
We'll be doing another big ol' ride in the fall - not sure of the date yet but it will happen.

Thanks Matt! I wish I could have shot some video on Saturday too, but between trying to sell stuff and showing 2 bikes, I decided it was too much to deal with. I was wondering where you were on Sunday. The video just isn't the same without all the flatland action. I hope you had a good time at the beach and I'll see you at the next one for sure.

Oh and I hope you and G don't mind me using the logo in the video. I probably should have asked first or at least given credit in the video.

Re: 2012 Philly Old School BMX BBQ 6/23 (Swap/BBQ/Show) and Ride 6/24 !

I think some apologies are due to Mel aka DYNO........
He sent me a PM the other day with his side of things and I did some follow up..........

I spoke to Ultrahive and he had shirts he was giving away and had posted on his site that he would have free shirts there prior to the BBQ. As Jpb71 stated, he gave Dyno a bunch of stuff  To Estados, I think you and Dyno should have a talk.

To Dyno, I apologize for assuming the worst before looking into it, and the reason I hadn't responded to you yet was I was trying to get to the bottom of it all.

No one knows who took the wheels, it could have been one of the many non members that passed through that day. Hell, since the BBQ Ive run into local people I know that mentioned seeing the BBQ and checking it out and asking me if I had known about it.....funny cause it was my event and I was there, but yet they didnt see me there. Bottom line, it's a open Public area and we all need to keep an eye on our stuff

I hope we have not alienated a potential new member for unjust reasons, and I hope people will try to remember being a newbie and getting bit by the BMX collecting bug and how many questions they may have had when they got started

I will get the rest of the pics posted soon....unfortunately all of the negative stuff has taken up a lot of my time and kinda soured me on the whole event, so Ive been trying to clear up the negative stuff first
