We are going to hold it at the same place as last year, in South Philly between Water and Front St's in the parking lots under 95. This way weather will not be a factor and we will hold the BBQ Rain or Shine. There is plenty of free parking and a huge lot that we can use for the bike games etc. These lots are right down the street from the Columbus/South St lot we are going to use for the Sunday ride.
( The BBQ is months later this year and the shade will come in handy for those that complained about the cold )

Big changes for the Show part of the BBQ..... bikes for each class will need to be brought to the judging area at the set time for that class. The bikes will be lined up and there will be 10-15 minutes for viewing and photos, everyone will then be asked to step back while the judges will view the bikes. Awards will be given to the Winners of that Class (First,Second,Third places) and then there will be a 15 minute intermission before the next class is lined up. Weather permitting, the bikes will get lined up in the grass by the sidewalk out in the sunshine for the show judging of each class.

Hopefully many of last years Sponsors will be back on board as well as some new ones (stay tuned to this thread since I will be updating prizes donated like I did last year

Same as last year, feel free to bring the Wife/Kids/Dog/Cats/Girl Friends/Paid Escorts etc for the BBQ.


The Ride Sunday 6/24

Where: The South St Parking lot.... located at 588 S. Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia PA, 19106
** the same meeting place as the Philly Ride

Time:  9:30 AM Swap  (for those that didnt make it Saturday and a chance for those that did to buy or sell more stuff )
              10:45 AM pack up your stuff
              12:00       Ride **
             ** The ride on Sunday will be a faster paced than past rides, so younger kids and unskilled riders are NOT recommended

I also need help in every other aspect of the event...
My thoughts after last years BBQ was to ask a number people to volunteer a hour (or more)  during the day, this way with people working shifts, we can have the riding contests happen in between everything, spell people on the grills, and have the event more enjoyable for everyone involved. Last year I was running like a mad man and feel bad that it ended up being a mess.

I have set up a Group Rate Package at the Comfort Inn @ Penns Landing! 100 North Christopher Columbus Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19106 ( a few blocks from the South St parking lot that the Philly rides start from)

I have 10 rooms available @ a discounted rate (I can add more rooms if needed with advance notice)

Discounted rate (tax inc) is $160.09 with parking or $137.09 w/o parking per night (Rates normally start @ $209. Before tax, and parking is extra)

Rooms are 2 queen size beds, or a king size, smoking and non smoking are available

re: the show......

#1. Last years Class winning Bikes will NOT be eligible for awards this year.

#2.   Some things from last years Judging will remain, so let me clarify it so no one cries afterwards that they didn't win

If you are entering a bike in a Class, make sure that the parts on the bike are from that era, since new school chain tensioners etc can detract points.

I'll be working with the judges over the next few weeks to create the year categories and other special awards.....you all will get a chance to judge the judges bikes like I created @ the last minute last year lol!

Like last year, I want this to be a fun show, no stress over trying to build a bike just for this show etc. I know I could have done a lot better job last year, but I learned a lot to make this years even better. Hopefully last years Judges will be returning since I feel they judged fairly. They are all well respected collectors and riders with sick collections. I have already spoken to another possible Judge.
I will be looking to recruit one or two judges who are well versed in Mid School and New School to even it out.

Spoke to Mike @ Crit Plate.... Class winner plates will be in the works soon.
Anyone interested in buying a 2nd Annual BBQ Crit Plate for the ride? I might get some plates done as a souvenir? They will differ from the award winner plates

Proud to announce Chip (C4 Labs) and Fitpays (C4 Labs) will be on board as Judges this year.

I have also added an award for best restored in addition to the best of show and best survivor awards

I need people to start chiming in whether you are interested in buying a commemorative Crit Plate or not? Price will depend on how many are made...so let me know on here if you're interested so I can get an idea on how many to make...the more I get, the lower the price

6/18 UPDATE
Countdown has begun!!!!!!! We are still short on meats and other items for the BBQ, so if you haven't yet, please offer up something. I am not charging for the swap or anything else as long as you've contributed . We still need some people to donate 1hr or even 1/2hr on the grill, or to help run some of the bike games
Many Sponsors have come on board and I've got something special up my sleeve for the show on Sat
