well I have finally decided on a date for this. June 9th-12th. we are driving to Chicago Saturday morning and my buddy is dropping us off. as of right now it is only me and a buddy named Rob. we are planning on riding around 70 miles per day. its around 270 miles from Downtown Chicago to my house give or take a few miles. I will be taking pictures along the way and sending them for someone to post up. taking donations if anyone is interested, so far my buddy Dave (bmxjunkie) has donated 10 cents and some pocket lint (JERK)

let me know what you think, most people say we are crazy, some say cool, some say crazy and cool

day by day map of ride. day 1 will be tough, we have to drive to Chicago then ride around 70 miles. day 2 we will get a little break, only 60 miles, but day 3 we have to hump around 80 miles. and the 4th day to get home about 60 miles

Good luck and stay safe. I dont know your exact route, but steer clear of K-Zoo and Benton Harbor. Wish I could go!

please make sure to pack the right tools and spare parts. especially a chain/tool. trust me it does suck if your chain breaks while your on a "ride".

oh yeah, will have plenty of tools, extra chain and tubes. usually the rider will break down before the bike though

Ok since I didn't make it the rest of the way back from downtown last time Ill take that as a stab at me..lol I'm in on the Chicago ride! Oh and I will add that was my first ride of the season I'll be prepped for the 70 a day and my chain breaker is comin with

NOT a stab at all Corey, was just stating the obvious that usually people break down before bikes do.

just to let you know for 3 people the first night hotel stay is $15 each, the 2nd night will be $15 each and trying to figure out the 3rd night.

Bro we used to ride to the beach when we were kids. It was about 20-25 miles one way. 70 miles a day for threee days? That will be a feat! Not to mention sore feet, and backside!

You guys should go north to Milwaukee then take the fairy over to Mich. Then head south.... south of chicago is brutal at best

I just got a new cruiser so most likely taking that. another guy has a cruiser too. but Corey only has a 20"

I'm sure you checked this out but maybe you didn't here are a few bike trail maps...not sure if you guys have a smart phone but my phone does GPS for bike rides..and someone can GPS you on your route I use it all the time for running...I go on the webpage and I can see my wife running( it's a blue dot one the screen) you could create your own page so we all can fallow you...it's really cool and works awesome..there are a ton of apps to do about the same thing

No doubt, but hey, that's what friends are for!

Man, I heard tell of you guys doing this. VERY cool. How early are you leaving from the Tower? If I can get out that morning, I'd be happy to show up with some supplies and even ride part of the way with you!
