Yea only ones you trust i will pay as a gift. I think he will come through, from what i understand he is going through family problems. He said he was traveling back fromcali to jersey. I was reading that in a older post. But still no excuse not ship if you are going to sell. Because you have to time to sell you have time to ship.

I have had 2 flawless transactions with him, one just from a couple of weeks ago. Communication was also spot on from him so maybe there is something else going on.

Im not sure if thats a bad enough offense but you should leave feedback to him if it is.

naah, not bad enough, since he did not dib it in topic

or called undibs, it was just thru PM

if i sell 1 seatpost more or less,  i don’t care

it was to renew my pro member ship here

I wouldnt leave negative feedback for him but I would leave "Neutral" feedback.
I did that with someone who said they were sending a PMO but never did and when I asked a couple days later the response was, I have the money I just havent sent it and that was all. hmm
Needless to say I let that person know to forget about it and that I was gonna leave neutral feedback for wasting my time.

IM looking for BEATUP, maybe not useable for you but useable sections of frames for me.

RL20II - Good Twin top tube section, the rest can be garbage.
ELF Double cross - Good rear section, the rest can be garbage.
ELF Double Butted - Good Down Tube section, the rest can be garbage.
Auburn - Front and rear section needed, from seat area back, rest can be garbage.
GT Performer with S tube, Late 80s Early 90s - Need the S tube section so smashed TT or rear triangle is fine.

Re: I hate scammers!

I think there are certain people that jump the gun in these situations, there are no rules in the museum about shipping time, we pretty much base it on paypal, and when we should file a claim.....some people are slow shippers some are fast.....and real life happens from time to time.....that is why you let the mods handle it, and not start drama threads.  I have had several transactions with jonny77 and they were flawless on both ends....I have bought and sold with him....if I had noticed this thread earlier I would have let it be known that his mother had been sick and would be gone for a while out of town......I am in no way making excuses  for what ever has happened, but do not make it look like someone was trying to steal from you......and the only reason you sent a gift payment is because you were lowballing his asking price just like I did in one of his posts......I offered to send him payment as a gift, as probably you did also.......and like the mods say, do not send gift payment , then turn around and cry about loosing money.....that is why we use paypal.....my opinion only    RP

Well the mod told me to leave the feedback and to contact him about it. I never mentioned the name in the thread originally until it was asked. By selling you assume responsibility to AT LEAST keep in contact with the buyer. Several weeks without notification is not professional and i understand that life happens outside of here but you should still at least send something saying that there is an issue and it will be solved. Thank you however for your opinion. Noone here really has a full spectrum picture so opinions are all we have. Your input is welcome.

Catch 22....it is kinda hard to negotiate the lowest price then insist on adding tracking,,,,but really that is what all us of might need to insist on....I always buy tracking/delivery confirmation when I sell something, but I do not always provide the info to buyers who did not pay for it, it is kinda cheap on my part I know....but I am not a Hippocrit , as long as a package makes it to me within a month or before a paypal claim is unable to be filed, I hold my tongue.  Some packages sent cheaply through USPS go really slow especially when sent to the west coast from Indiana.  I just try a preach patience, and if a seller is a slow shipper, do not buy from them in the future,  Because that is the price you pay sometimes for getting a good deal.....like I said just my opinion   RP

All of that makes sense. The issue I had was I couldn't file a claim and after weeks and several PMS I had no package and no answers. I have had people go out of town before for a week or so like on my raider frame set. However I was notified. Patience is valuable and necessary but so is communication in business matters.

If you pay as a gift you as a buyer have no recourse through Paypal if the package goes missing in transport, if the seller does not ship it or if your mailman decides to steal it.

That is why gift payments are just that; gift payments, used for parents to send cash to their children or vice versa, not for paying for items over the internet.

Even if i was paying my brother for bike parts who lives a 1,000 miles away i would not pay as a gift as if that package mysteriously disappears somewhere between there and here i would rather be dealing with paypal than filing a claim with the Postal service.

So if the USPS loses the package, youd rather screw your brother over then take it up with whos at fault????........classic hmm

Re: I hate scammers!

if it makes anybody feel better. jonny had sent my last package (that i paid as a gift for) out on Monday April 9th. he sent it out parcel and apologized for not using priority, said he had alot to ship out at once and money was tight. wasn't a problem, got the pedals Monday April 16th. items missing were probably also shipped out April 9th parcel and still can show up in the next few days. i really don't think this member has screwed anybody.
