Found a link to a ride and swap that was today in Richmond. Stopped by and met a couple museum members. Was cold and rainy but was in a big parking garage. Hopefully the next one will be advertised more. Took my General and rode a little.
Good meeting the guys that were there.

I only know of 3 of us that were there that I actually talked to about the site. Wasn't many bmx there, lot of fixie bikes and old 10speeds. A few bmx frames and a couple completes. But could have been a cool place for it. I just stumbled on the flyer on craigslist. Didn't take any pics though. There was supposed to be a ride after from the museum to carytown for some sort of film at the old movie theater but I didnt' stick around that long. It was pooring rain anyway off and on.
Hoping that they do it again and it's a bigger event. Would be great to finally have something in Richmond.

Yeah, the 'fixie hipsters' pretty much own the bike scene here in the RVA. You see more of the bmx crowd at the annual Slaughterama. I noticed The Bunnyhop Bike Shop on the sponsor list from the poster, they're an AWESOME group of guys and Luke, the owner was SUPER helpful when I was cobbling together my tight-budget-rider-build last summer. They may be the guys to talk to when it comes to setting something up here in the River City...

We should try and get something going on here for a Richmond ride and swap like what D.C. is doing this weekend..If the weather holds out? I would drive down again for it..Had a good time talking dts123. It would be great to meet some other museum members!!

Yeah I'd like to but my sons 7 yr bday party is this weekend. So I'll have to just be jealous and see all the pictures. I talked to the guys that set up the rich,one thing and they are trying to do something in Aug/sept. said they would email me as they got it going so I'll post here if that does ever pan out.

I spoke to the guys and they are putting another Swap together. They don't have a date yet but said they would email me to let me know and update the site.
Hoping more BMX this year will be around.
If I see the flyer come out i'll post it here.

You guys need to come a little north for the DC ride. We have a crew growing from the Tri-state area. We're just waiting for it to warm up again. We're looking to do a big BBQ next I think, put the word out and join our link here. Always looking to grow our group!!!

yeah I'm on that thread too. I think Bikerdad made it to that one last year. I had kids stuff going on and ended up on my kids bday so that didnt' work out.

dts123 do you think they will have the swap again in Richmond this year? Hope yo can come to the D.C. ride this year it was cool last year. Lots of cool bikes and a great ride..

I want to do Richmond stuff too! Maybe we should get our own city thread? Anyone ever ride the course down in churchhill? or the new one on Belle isle?

I'm friends with the Ride Richmond people, one of the head people is my neighbor even. I'm just getting into BMX, but I also ride road bikes and do their events and stuff.

I went to this swap last year, I wanted one BMX seat but it got bought literally right in front of me.

But I did get this awesome pad for my Peugeot Pipeline!

Made it all worth it

I'm on Southside but rarely ride. Only have a couple 20 inch bikes so don't cruise much. Maybe we can all get up a weekend before or after the DC ride and hang in the fan.

If you guys put something together this year or even meet up once in a while I would come down to ride. You guys are more than welcome to come to the DC ride and swap as well!
