Well, it's not a cookie cutter machine, that's for sure.

I'll pass myself, but would really like to see it in person.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?

I love it when self proclaimed 'insiders' feel the need to chime in saying they have seen it.....but don't want to 'spoil' it for the rest of us:lol:lol. O....K......so why did you post then? Did you need affirmation of your insider status? . Well, allll right. "Dude! No way! You have seen it? Do you know Bob Haro? Were you in on the designing phase? Does your mothers friend work at the print shop where they are creating the stickers? Aaaah man, you must be connected to get inside access to leaked pics that have been around for months. Keep us all updated to all the gossip within the Haro-Kastan camp, will ya?"

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?

What a joke ..... I expected a lot more. I expected the original 1980s Master / Freestyler on steroids with bigger platforms, maybe more aero, and a lot of carbon fiber and graphite componentry.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?

Can I be the first one to say that I hate all new school bikes because they all look the same! Where is the originality?

Oh, wait, wrong canned response.

I hate this bike, it looks nothing like I expected it to look!

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?

I think Mr. Haro is listening. This is  from Facebook:

Here is a spy shot of my prototype Ikonix SX1 race bike that has been circulating on various BMX websites for your review.

This is a concept bike I made for the Oakley Designed to Win exhibit at the Design Museum in London.

This is a prototype and I can see it's creating some controversy with BMX purists and others with mostly positive and some negative feedback.
...
A special thanks to Oakley and the Design Museum for the invitation to be shown along side many other state of art machines and equipment like F1 cars, Tour de France bicycles and many other high-tech sports equipment.

For information of the show check here -

http://designmuseum.org/media/item/7969 … -final.pdf

I will post better images of my new bike in the coming days.

Thanks for your feedback!

And you feel the need to come in here and bash them...  I guess that makes you better.  smile

Bob is an inovator, if all everyone wanted was something exactly the same as all the other ones, what exactly would be the point.

Besides, I've seen a couple other sneak peaks of other bikes, why would you think this is the only bike he's going to design?

News break...  Carbon is here, and has been here.  What do you think all the road bikers, and MTBers are riding?  They are only getting faster, and faster.

Carbon is late to the party in BMX, welcome to the future.  Ugly or not, I bet this could be a game changer, or at least a spark to change.

Sorry change is so hard, and it wasn't just another replica of an already produced bike.

I'm with five.

I think the design is spot on to what a carbon concept should be. Look at road bikes? That Iconix looks similar to a typical carbon road frame in design with the curved top tube and tube profiles. Typical double diamond design so what is the big deal?

You can't expect a bunch of guys living in the past to like it. Heck, I love old school but I think Iconix is onto something, like it or not.

I dig it. It's one of those ugly, yet cool kinda deals. Not stoked on the color or the triple clamps, but it's different and cool to me.

Re: Bob Haro new bike. What is this?

I think people's veiws of this bike will change when the company starts to grow and change bmx.
I'm a racer. I race new school bikes. I  didnt want an 80's replica. Go buy the real thing if thats what you want.
This bike will change new school bmx, is not going to change old school bmx, so for the purists either love it or move on. its not for you. cool

Great point. I remember when the first shock absorber frame and fork came out for downhill mountain bikes. People went nuts. Now every single one has 'em. When things work, they get adopted.

I personally don't like the look of this particular one, but like I said, I would love to get a close up look at it and a spin on it. And the future bikes it's sure to inspire. Bob always has been an innovator, and we he talks, I listen. I don't have to agree, but I respect what he says.
