1997 Fatboy A1 Team Edition

This deserves its own category!

I recall as a young boy, looking through the specialized catalog at my local bike shop. The team edition Fatboy had all the goodies, and the best components. It was far too expensive for a kid's bike. I found this beauty on ebay. I'm not sure the guy knew what he had, but I knew so I bought it immediately! They only made this model for 1 year and there was very limited production. The bike came stock with a lot of upgrades, but the previous owner tricked this bike out. The mod list includes the following: Answer MAG Aluminum Race Fork, Answer Bar Pad, Profile Aluminite Big Bars, 176 MM Aluminum Profile 3-Piece cranks, Crupi Aluminum Pedals, Odyssey Grips, Specialized Sealed Hubs, Shimano Deore XT Brakes and brake lever, and other various anodized pieces.

Re: 1997 Fatboy A1 Team Edition

The last four of my vin is 0475. This bike is super rare. From what my local specialized dealer has told me, there were very few of these made, and even fewer sold. He said there were somewhere between 25 and 50 of these produced and a few were given to the team. Can you believe this bike retailed at 1099.99!? That was more than a haro monocoque! Anyways.. It was a great find. I plan on hanging onto it unless I get an offer I can't refuse.
