I knew a guy that thought Dorf was a real....ah...little person. I asked how he thought he could fall back and spring right up like that. He didn't know.

Why??? I kind'a liked that part as it pushed me to get a couple things I would not have normally and bring this thing to kick asz level. Heck, I was even gonna get dated brake cables for once!!

I think I'm in for my first build off. I need some motivation to do something with one of the frames I have lying around.

Too many had an issue.. wasn't going to blow up the whole thing over it... Hell, I originally had three items until nuggett talked me down. Lol.. Guys will have enough on their plate with designing a bike...

Don't get me wrong I'm certainly not saying that my build was better than anybody elses but when a detailed bike gets blown off for one that's dirty something is wrong
Detail and originality will be main factors in the judging, that's what the idea is all about.

Hrkhotrods, I voted for your Hutch, Mainly beacause you fixed the frame and made the stem otherwise I would not have voted for a pink Hutch. A lot of bikes I picked, I didn't know the builder, I just liked the bike. I'm not a fan of pink builds or Hutch Windstylers but you repaird the frame and made a bad-ass stem so you got a vote from me. Coming into a buildoff with high expectations never seems to work. I didn't think I'd get any votes for my ratty old CW cruiser but I got a few which made me happy.
I would have built the bike regardless but figured I'd enter it in a build off just for the hell of it. Same with this build off. I'm entering just because I picked up a frame and fork and the timing worked. I'll build the bike how I want to regardless so maybe I'll get some votes, maybe I won't.

Re: 2012 SUMMER OPEN BUILD-OFF, SPONSORED BY PLANETBMX.COM & BMXMUSEUM.COM
Hey Dan
Thanks for lifting the buy within the time frame rule. I for one have a hard enough time finishing a build off bike because of the time it takes to source the parts I like to use. I was getting close to getting all the parts I needed from the bike I couldn't finish in the spring build off.
Anonymous (admin/mod/member) judges will not totally eliminate the bro/favoritism vote, but will make it fair enough. That is until I send the admins and mods a case of beer. ![]()
I think I'll actually do a refinished bike this time, and of course a survivor. These build offs are great motivation to finish our bikes, and drive the underground BMX economy. ![]()
Look guys/gals have fun with your builds, and enjoy the diversity of old school.

16" wasn't mentioned. Acceptable or no?
You know, Roy Munson has two chances to win this tournament now...slim and none...and slim may have just left town.

There are also 2 members, plus the judging will have several categories of scoring . Each will have am independent sheet. They won't know how the others are scoring. Ideally...

Re: 2012 SUMMER OPEN BUILD-OFF, SPONSORED BY PLANETBMX.COM & BMXMUSEUM.COM
DFTR, Sorry to bug you again, Just so I got this straight.. Its ok if a bike has been built and submitted to the museum? Id be lookign to enter my 85 GT Mach 1. I built it over the winter (this past winter) A good number of parts were bought here on the museum and the rest were OG to the bike. The finish on it is new but the parts build should fit the criteria. Id need to add a couple things before Id enter it like pads nsuch... What say you buildoff leader?
What I'd give for a early 80's 26" GT Cruiser....
