Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

so essentially if I need Dyno seat. I can by a old gt seat, whiten it and scrub off the old gt logo. Then put a dyno decal as sonicmouse and then clear coat?cool

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

What about white nylon pads like Hutch?  I might try it and see.

I don't throw it away because someday I know I will want it back.

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

Anybody do a pair of mags yet? I bought about 20 x 32 ouncers in preparation, but my white KKt pedals are not having results as good as the rest of you. Don't want to blow all that HP if it's not going to work.

I don't think the HP will burn off black brake marks? May just have to sand them off. smile

Soft scrub is good for mags.

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

going to give it a try on my 25 year old Mushroom bearing cup that's been in our storage shed in the past 15 years... cleaned off all the dirt and grim... just dunked it in peroxide - see how it comes out in a couple of days.

before...

damn... forgot about that - my mushroom cap's been in peroxide for four days now in the garage... I see slight bit of change.  Will put it outside tomorrow.  Would it ruin my cap if I leave it in peroxide too long ?

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

Amazing.....

I have a Redline seat, with the chrome Redline logo in thew back, am wondering if soaking will damage the logo.  The seat is not very yellow but I would like to brilliant white again.

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

sweet - it works on rubber... 2.5 days in peroxide in direct sunlight... think progress stopped after the second day -didn't notice much difference from the extra 0.5 day.

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

So will this procedure damage the metallic logo on a seat?

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

Peroxide works 100% on Mags. Not only does it whitens the mags but it is a lot less harsh on the plastic than bleach.
You do not need to use oil or silicone spray when done.
Here is a pic of a set I first bleached but the color was still tan.

Re: Whitening yellowed hard plastic (ABS?) pedals

That is what I am thinking......is there an industrial bulk source?   Dont know how much peroxide costs, but if you need to fill a tub, might be cheaper to get a new mag!
