Thought macr0w said there was something going on in Raleigh this weekend?  Did he have the weekend wrong?

Raleigh is a long haul, sadly just can't make it to that one. Not sure when it is though.

The Raleigh Trans Jam isn't until Sunday, May 20th. A little less that 2 weeks away.

Yeah. I know what you mean. That's the way Asheville is for me. You have to carve time out for that trip for sure. I regret that I didn't get up that way enough to see my dad because of that reason. hmm

Good to know. I'll have to look you up barkzine! you live pretty close to raleigh right. I have trouble remembering where everyone lives.

I'm actually in the Triad area of NC. Archdale to be exact. About an hour from Raleigh or Charlotte.

You'll do well with the new retro Skyway 24". I wouldn't mind having one of those of my own.cool

What's that mean JT? If they are on different weekends you can still attend both right?

Re: North Carolina Riders

I only planned on attending TransJam. It's just a matter of clearing out some me time on the schedule with the wife and kids. This actually will work out better since my daughter has soccer on Saturdays.

Re: North Carolina Riders

The Raleigh TransJam is included in what appears to be a local festival/carnival. Take a look at the site for the event itself: http://www.gottobencfestival.com/

Now have a look at this snippet of the schedule for Sunday, 5/20/2012:

http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n530/barkzine/tjr.jpg

I'm not sure about you guys but I'm definitely hitting up the "Garden Tractor and Lawnmower Pull" at the "Walmart Grandstand" from 1 to 7 PM. loltonguelol

Re: North Carolina Riders

Yeah I think that gottabenc festival stuff is something that is put on by the local fox50 affiliate WRAL tv. They do it every year. I think it's different events all over town.

Those look like they all must be events at the fair grounds though. I think I would be hard to bring bikes if the trans jam is inside dorton arena. It's mostly seats if you've ever been there.

Used to watch (woooo!) ric flair kick some booty in there when I was a kid. They used to have hockey games in there as well pre-hurricanes, the team was the Raleigh IceCaps

You should like it, but I never used front brakes, so a front set of mounts would be wasted on me.  I got very close to buying one of those, but then a couple things came up and I ended up not going for it.  As to your rims, I need to take a good inventory to give you an accurate account. I can tell you the pro class are 1.5" laced to low flange sealed Suzue hubs. you'll probably need to re lace them as I think the spokes need some help. I also know I have one blue Ukai, and a few silver 7x Araya hoops.

When you compute the length of time between the "EVENT" and "THE NOSTALGIA FOR THE EVENT", the span seems to be about a year less in every cycle.
Eventually the nostalgia cycles will be so close together that people will not be able to take a step without being nostalgic for the one they just took.
At that point, everything stops. DEATH BY NOSTALGIA. Frank Zappa

I'm looking for something to go on this. I don't like the black. So I figured I'd trade out for some blue or silver or chrome components. Aryana's would be fine. The proclass would be good as well. I've never laced rims before, but I'd be willing to try it. Hubs dont matter as much  I can get them. But tru 26" bmx rims seem to be in short supply. I guess I could use mtb rims as a last resort, but.....
