Ha,Ha! I found you! john!!
get that plumbing done?
waiting on the landlord to get the inspectors in to put on paper what HAS to be done to get the cert of occupancy before i sign papers on the joint. she's being SLOW. she also said she was gonna talk to the plumber she usually uses for her residential properties about doing the bathroom. she's been working on that for 2 weeks with no results to me so far. i actually need to give her a call and light the fire under her...ken....

Take it from me guys, YOU DO NEED TO DO A YEARLY GATHERING!!! We get at least 2 here in Fl., 1 in the spring (Spring Fling) and 1 in the fall (The Feast) and its a blast. I`d say hit one up in Hickory or something in the fall to catch the changing colors of the leaves. I`d try to catch that one if I can.
as long as the location i'm working on works out i'm hoping the shop will be opening around october so a grand opening ride would be perfect timing.
there looks to be alot of us that are all within an hour or two of each other so theres no reason a semi regular ride couldn't be pulled off...ken....

Re: North Carolina Riders
OK, so there's a few who are able to get close to Salisbury. Downtown is decent for some simple cruising. We have a Farmer's market on S. Main that is covered, that would be a cool place to have a meet. There's plenty of fast food type restaurants plus of course BBQ and some decent local spots.

I`m about 11 hours from Murphy or so but I`d love to make a ride up there sometime.

JTinNC, I have a buddy that lives in Salisbury off of Mooresville Road near Jake Alexander. Are you near there. I usually make it a weekend visit when we hang. Maybe we can all get up at some point?
Dude just send me a PM when you plan on coming to town, we can hit the Salty Caper for some pizza and beers.

Re: North Carolina Riders
How about something like the middle of October? The 16th is a Saturday. Any other suggestions for a time? What place? Maybe we could do a big ride in one city and kind of travel around to new cities for major rides and maybe pick a middle ground for a simple get together ride.
Black Widows... let's mount up!!

Re: North Carolina Riders
I would say come to Charlotte but it seems you guys are are more centrally located up north a little ways.
I'm trying to think of something that could coincide with a bike ride that would make it more interesting to come here.
I don't know how big a factor food and booze is.
We have plenty of that. ![]()
When you compute the length of time between the "EVENT" and "THE NOSTALGIA FOR THE EVENT", the span seems to be about a year less in every cycle.
Eventually the nostalgia cycles will be so close together that people will not be able to take a step without being nostalgic for the one they just took.
At that point, everything stops. DEATH BY NOSTALGIA. Frank Zappa

Re: North Carolina Riders
i'm trying to get an events schedule for Oktoberfest here in hickory. between fall scenery, that, and hopefully a shop grand opening that should pull a day together. the bands at oktoberfest here typically suck(though Junior Brown did play in '08) but if you drink enough you can get past that haha...ken....

Re: North Carolina Riders
oh and after 2 weeks of waiting for her to get the inspectors in the land lord of the building i was trying to get informed me yesterday they are in negotiations with someone who may be buying the building:rolleyes: and they don't want to rent it until they see how the sale is going to go. sucks but whatever and maybe the new owner will not be a cheapass and will do the work needed themselves. on the flipside i spent about half the day today driving around looking for alternate locations. foud a few possible leads. the heat got me and my car('67 vw squareback) beat and we headed home to cool down. gonna spend a few more hours at it tomorrow...ken...

what's up Johnny, I am hoping to to do a lot of traveling next summer as far as racing and riding goes. I finally got to the track this year and my son loves it. He is training everynight to get his legs stronger so I think we are going to let him race a couple times before the season finishes out and then next year hit it hard. Are yall ABA or NBL up there?
